Walking in the bush, a SI kaka lands on my wife's head and tries to untie her hair tie. (These birds were bred and released to the wild by project Janzsoon - after eradicating stoats and possums in areas of Abel Tasman park)

Watch out for the skindeep!

They should re-release that song and re-title it "Facebook Friends"!

It's silly, but the idea of hearing Golden Brown, Hey Little Girl etc live is more exciting than it has a right to be!

Relaxed test ✈️ overhead North Pole this week - hopefully not crossing Santa's flight path.

It seems somebody else from B-Company did the job: *click*

That the very old ‘only for shavers’ power point in our farmhouse bathroom also works fine for charging my electric toothbrush.

While contemplating it, the thought occurred to me that it would also work fine for charging a capacitor/diode stuck into the contact points, after which it would do a spectacular job of turning Donald Trump’s mushroom into a peeled banana!

That made me smile.

DO they still riff Peaches, Down in the Sewers, and Get a Grip ?

(Big fan of the Rattus Norvegicus album)

This Brexit summary:

UK: We want a unicorn!
EU: Unicorns do not exist, but you can have a pony instead.
UK: We vote against your pony!
EU: We have already discussed this in detail: pony or nothing.
UK: We vote against your pony!
EU: Well, then you get nothing.
UK: We're voting against your nothing!
EU: You really don't understand, do you?
UK: We want more time to think about it!

Receiving environmental data from my autonomous sensor node in 7.8km urban wireless distance since 3 month now. According to the monitoring, no battery re-charging needed for the next 9 month. 🙂

Taking my wife out hunting and having her shoot her first deer - a fallow yearling.

While she had me gut it, she carried it out, did the skinning and broke it down herself and then boned it out once we got home, including a rolled front-shoulder roast that we'll be having tomorrow night.

While it might not be her new favorite pastime, she's taken an animal from the bush to the table and been involved in every step in between - a pretty awesome achievement!

Super-proud of her today.
