To be convicted of a crime, the case should be entirely made up of the evidence related to this and only this crime.

Yup, and that's why you suppress beforehand but name afterwards. If they're a serial offender, as this guy was, you want to create the opportunity for other crimes he's committed to be identified. It's nothing to do with revenge or titillation or whatever as someone else has said, it's to allow other victims to come forward and previously undiscovered crimes to be identified.

Oh, back to grammar and spelling for the 900th time!

People who say the T in Often! Drives me insane. It's silent!

People who pronounce Anthony as if the “th” is like the one at the beginning of “thong” instead of like a hard “t” sound.

Or Adrienne as if it was “Adrian”, which it isn’t.

Or people who can't pronounce otorhinolaryngologist, that really gets my goat. It may sound grandiloquent or noisome, and inchoate pronuciation isn't your forte if you're a neophyte, but it's actually quite fatuous if you take a sanguine approach to it.

I got this email from a friend, when I told hime about my experience with Outlook.com / Hotmail.com

"Bloody phishing emails keep us busy at work.

We run regular campaigns at work to educate people on phishing emails.

We ran one recently and the results were less than impressive. Many ICT staff clicked on the links and even some entered their credentials.

I can only guess how many Trump fell for :-)"

The absurd number of ads on YouTube now. I got two ads in a row, 5 seconds of the actual video (not exaggerating) and then two ads again. I then skipped forward and was immediately thrown into another ad.

Agreed. It is becoming unwatchable - and I have heard many channel owners complain that their videos get "demonetised" frequently as well.

its because they breach conditions/talk about certain topics which you wont get paid for. its pretty easy to avoid, so you get paid.

I have a YouTube subscription, haven't seen an ad in years.

Just leads to ridiculous ways being found round using certain words - none of which so far IME are words I would consider it appropriate to ban discussion of in a wide open world like YT.

Up to them I guess but it seems a bit pathetic to me.

People who need to call each other fan-bois, sheep or whatever else due to someone's choice of operating system/device manufacturer. It's fairly pathetic.

Price Gouging at Xmas Time. Raspberries yesterday $4.99 today 10.99. The FUG prevents me from appropriately labelling them.

I did more than that. I gave them a royal piece of my mind, to which a number of customers clapped and put their berries down and didn't buy them either. Was quite satisfying.

I wonder at what point it's worth of a commerce commission complaint. I am sure there is something in there about excessive price gouging.

Trying to decide if I should use the discount AND voucher I have to buy a game I am not entirely sure I want, especially with so many other half finished games in the chamber, but it's a good deal!

What law do you think prevents price gouging? Businesses are free to make a profit at whatever level the market will bear. If you don't see the value don't buy the product.

Isn’t that “surge pricing”, beloved of airlines and tech companies?!

The local junk ($2ish) shop that we have frequented for many years...

Youngest son bought  a USB desk fan from them for $10. It wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few seconds.

I took it back the next day and asked for remedy (politely asked for refund or replacement). He said he didn't have any of those left. I asked for my money back.

He refused on the grounds that I didn't have the original packaging. I stated that it was pretty unusual for a kid to keep packaging from a cheap thing they bought and it wasn't a requirement under any law or regulation that I was aware of. Please refund my money.

He again refused, stating that KMart or The Warehouse would require the original packaging and that I was having a laugh. But then he offered a great deal on a more expensive (but basically the same) item. I said, no thanks, I am not paying extra for something that I don't want. Please give me a refund.

Again I was refused said refund, then it got quite heated (he started shouting, I started speaking loudly enough that customers started walking out) and he essentially told me never to come back to his store again. Off to the local Facebook page I trotted and gave my 2c worth. It would appear he's developed a reputation for this kind of thing lately. CGA doesn't apply to him and anyone that doesn't like the way he runs his business is welcome to go elsewhere, apparently.

Shame - used to be a good little shop run by locals who seemed to have just the right junk at the right price.

Went to Warehouse, bought a far better USB desk fan for $5.00.
