Junk emails from The Warehouse (don't know why I haven't unsubscribed..) are now headed up as Partner Email.

Even more cringeworthy than the 'Dear Friend' replies you get from AliExpress or EBay sellers after you send them a sh*togramme.

Yep. Haven't bee there for a while but I thought its ok, it fills a need. Looking at a tunnel house (bigger, cheaper greenhouse) Checked reviews, they are cheap as, WH are  even cheaper. Reviews. Ripped when putting up, lasted a week then ripped. There is a difference between budget and value, and sh!te

People that take a two-year-old to a nearly 3 hour movie and let it run up and down the aisle shouting and laughing and giggling and shouting.

When I had toddlers I simply missed movies. It's a "sacrifice" one must make to have children...or get a babysitter if you absolutely MUST see that movie.

Shouting SHUT UP loudly simply made it cry. and then they made noises to it to make it louder and happy again. complaining to the child running the theatre was no use at all, because apparently they'd also paid for tickets.

Surely the cinema management have a responsibility? Was the film age appropriate?

It was WW84 - so a superhero movie which was long and loud (at times) and probably had some drama too, but it was hard to tell, when I was so annoyed.

Yes, I would think the cinema management have a responsibility, especially as we'd paid $55 for two tickets to the movie. We don't get out a whole lot, as parents. I was quite unhappy.

This is why it's handy to always have a Rapid R34 on you. You know, just in case.

Totally unacceptable IMO. Management wouldn’t allow an adult to do that - so why should a kid be allowed to ruin others’ experience? I would have complained long and loud at the ticket office and/or demanded my money back.

Which makes it acceptable for someone to totally destroy the experience of everyone else who also paid? How frigging selfish or entitled is that?  I would be asking for my money back as well as any other costs incurred in going to the movie, like car parking, etc.

This is much more versatile. It can be used to restrict movement and keep noisy children quiet. There are a lot of other uses around the home and in the car. One should never be without some handy.

I might have got this the wrong way around.

To clarify. The hotel is supposed to be excellent. Our experience has been rubbish.

Remember the ticket seller is getting the minimum wage, and getting all the worst tasks.

The manager is getting paid more, to manage the theatre, so they should have to deal with the running of the theatre.

Ultimately they'll be the one refunding your ticket, so get them involved early.

So before you start giving grief to the ticket sellers, politely ask to see the manager.

When the ticket seller ask you why, just tell them, again politely, that you're happy with their performance, and leave it at that.

Then repeat your request to speak to the manager.

If you're going to let loose, let loose on the manager.

May I also suggest before going to a mainstream movie theatre, checking Rotten tomatoes movie reviews.

Cons:
  • the expense
  • the hassles of inconsiderate movie go-ers
  • sitting through 15 minutes of ads, before the movie starts
  • the criminal prices for snacks.
  • being deafened by the sound system
  • can't pause the movie
  • finding your seat if you get up
  • sticky floors, and gross seats
  • ...
For me, if it doesn't hit a 90% rating or better, I wait.

Or find a cinema that charges mainstream prices but provides a way-above-mainstream experience, e.g. the Silky Otter in Orakei. It's next to the train station so you don't have to worry about parking, there are several food places next to it, and it's waaay above the typical pack-em-in cinema experience.
