Handsomedan:

Starting the working week and not being able to find the bluetooth speaker that I put away pre-holiday so that it wasn't in the way.

I just want to listen to some music without headphones! And with some bass.

If anyone knows where I put it before I went on holiday two weeks ago, please advise.

im thinking somewhere in your house

Well...that's certainly somewhere to start!

I feel your pain. Before we went away to Taupo over a month ago I very carefully hid my brand new IPad, out of its box to thwart any burglars. I still haven’t found it.

Just report it.

Not a big enough deal for the nuclear option. It is an annoyance, not a tragedy.

That's actually a great video, "it you didn't record your black metal album a shed, in Norway, in the freezing cold, with one microphone very far away at the other side of the shed, it's not black metal"... "we can see that Norway is where Satan lives... oh, sorry, that's Santa".... "they're not a real black metal band, they're from Poland not Norway". It's a really good piss-take.

Yeah, I may have listened to it more than once...

This just happened to me but I am not targeting a specific individual. A lot of people do this, and I find it annoying.

When someone asks a question, they hope to find an answer to that question. On Geekzone they do most of the time, and that is one of the things that is so great about this site. Sometimes, unfortunately, there are replies that do not answer the question, but instead challenge the validity of the question, or wonder why the question is being asked.

There are times when it may be clear from the way a question is phrased, that the questioner may lack some basic knowledge and it can be helpful to query the questioner in order to clarify things. But it is not helpful to interject an irrelevant comment that does not provide any information. Here is a simple example: Q: How high is that mountain? A: You would never be able to climb it.

Such an answer adds nothing. So why bother posting it? If you don't have anything to say, just don't say anything.

Except often the questions on here are the IT equivalent of "I'm trying to put my fork into the electrical outlet and its not fitting, how can I make my fork fit into the electrical outlet without calling an electrician"

I allowed for that kind of thing in my post but it is the exception, not the rule. Most people here aren't that dumb so don't treat them like they are. Do treat the genuinely dumb ones that way.

Any thread about Apple anything seems to end up this way. Generally those people who have never ever used an Apple products chime up about how overpriced/restricted/whatever they are without actually knowing the products. It's daft.

The hill above Whakatane is currently on fire, and apparently my office has the best view so the place is now crowded and noisy!

Apparently there's a fire near the swimming pools today!

Sigh. New tenants moved in next door. They've just installed a spa pool apparently and the pump going on and off all night kept my partner up. I'm away with work so I'll guess I'll find out when I get home. The worse thing is I haven't had a chance to introduce myself yet so it will need to be very delicate.

I'm hoping it's not as loud as she has said, we sleep with quite a noisy fan on and the window open, which unfortunately has line of sight to the spa.

Needing to get a plumber in at short notice (during workhours thankfully) and 2 hours after two of them arrive they are still here.  Will anxiously await the invoice. 😟

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

When people comment on a Facebook post "look how big the kids are getting" or somesuch.

Well yeah, no sh*t Sherlock. That's what happens with this thing called time.

Have you allowed for the fact that you may in fact have had burglars? πŸ˜€
