The size and form factor are great fro any small business, and it should have enough CPU capacity to transcode video to our i-devices around the home. Looks a real winner!
With a growing family and a small home business this would be perfect solution to managing work and personal files. Remote access is how I see this really improving how I access files while I am on the road.
I currently have 14 Terabytes of external hard drives connected via usb hubs to my laptop which is getting ridiculous. The feature I like the best is the ability to fill the 4 bays of the HP Microserver Gen8 with 4 x 4 Terabyte drives and transfer my media collection to the NAS thus benefiting me by uncluttering my desk which is littered with 8 x 3.5 inch usb external hard drives and improving overall data performance.
The form factor would make this an excellent replacement for our aging server at our office that acts as a file server, a weather station server, and controls our internal heating and cooling systems at our winery. I *LOVE* the idea of having a sever with ILO as I'm not always on site and a good remote management option is a big plus
