This one is my favourite Pink Floyd song : another brick in the ball
SaltyNZ:
1024kb: Ode To Joy - Beethoven's symphony #9, quite possibly the single greatest piece of music ever written.
A little piece of trivia concerning the soundtrack to Clockwork Orange.
The soundtrack composer, Wendy Carlos, used mostly a [Robert] Moog synthesizer, the father of synthesized music, for which she actually helped in the development of.
Wendy Carlos was born Walter Carlos. After the release of Switched-On Bach she was invited by Stanley Kubrick to write & perform the score for a Clockwork Orange and the original release of the soundtrack was under her male name. Later after she had fully transitioned, all subsequent releases were under the name Wendy Carlos.
It took me a few years to track her down as it was early WWW internet but I eventually did: Wendy Carlos website
I now have not only the original Clockwork Orange soundtrack but also her boxed set "Switched On" I also have the movie on DVD.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
I really enjoyed the Clockwork Orange movie, have watched it 3 or 4 times.
The recording of Tchakrulo on the Voyager Golden Record:
Doing your best is much more important than being the best.
Bee: As others have said, hard to nail it down to one song.
I say Sweet Child of Mine by GnR, when I first heard slash play the solos...
Dire Straits Romeo and Juliet or Private Investigations.
Pink Floyd - Shine on you Crazy Diamond
Or one I haven't seen mentioned - Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells
Yeah, there's too many good songs out there to just try & select one... going to get far more posts on here if members select songs or pieces of music that they like the most, not just one song or one piece of music.
Intermezzo from the Karelia Suite is my favourite, marvelous crescendo build up.
First heard it in a five screen movie "This is New Zealand", which really shows my age :-)

I enjoy that song in all three parts but that particular title looks painful. :-D
My favourite Pink Floyd song is “Wish You Were Here” which would be high on my overall list.
But as with all the music I enjoy, the accompanying experience is often the key to my enjoying it. My many favourites find their place in specific circumstances such as singing to my young children at bedtime, with my wife lounging in the sun, and so on.
P.S. So that is why I can’t nominate one overall favourite because you have to be here in the moment: wish you were here.

Yeah, that title certainly sounds painful & would bring tears to your eyes as well 😀 ...was reminded by another member of the typo too, tried to adjust it, but couldn't get in to edit it, glad I couldn't, in these difficult times it gives everyone a good laugh.
Absolutely, different songs remind you of great times in your life... they tend to be very clear memories about what you were doing at the time etc.
It would be better to have a thread title where you're not so restricted to just posting an one-off song or one-off piece of music.
Master of Puppets. Especially live.
Followed closely by Moonlight Sonata.
