That my kids, as a result of being the children of a front line covid worker, need to have an unpleasant test seemingly constantly due to picking up sniffles and the like at school as kids their ages do, and for which they mostly do without complaint, but people can't keep isolated, safe distances apart, and wear a mask in level 3 as they have been asked to do.

I didn't think the address had any bearing in NZ - I've put po box address info for credit card billing when the bank wouldn't have had it on file

I wonder if for city they're wanting some kind of weird abbreviation, I've seen AUK for auckland for example, particularly on shopify based sites

as far as I know, none of the local payment processors have any way to even send them the billing address. That is a US thing where the only real reason for it is to stop people from putting in a no sales tax state when they dont have an account there.

Yep. The only screen I have damaged so far is an “edge display”. Glad to see the Galaxy S21 now offers a flat screen, albeit on the lower res models.

A perfect example of style over substance.

I've often wondered about this too. The bank has my PO box number on file since I rent and have had to move in the past (it's just easier to get a PO box and have all mail sent there so I don't have to update companies / govt when we move). But I always have items shipped to the house since many won't ship to PO boxes. Some websites tell me that the address for my CC must match the shipping address, which it never does due to me using a PO box, but still they accept the payments ok.

Here is another one: Raid has started advertising bug spray with a dual nozzle. Somehow that is supposed to make  it easier to hit the bug (as if mist dispersal isn't already more than enough). It certainly makes it easier to use twice as much spray as you need to, not only polluting the environment you live in, but also using up bug spray twice as fast!

The crapfest that follows the announcement or building of a new cycleway. One would think it required the sacrifice of all the first born children.

Conclusion to the "Billing Address" saga. I contacted them (they are based in the UK as a business, despite having an outlet here) and advised that I have lived in the same house for over 20 years and never changed my billing address...suddenly the problem is sorted and the order is placed.

Very strange, but I expect it's the gateway provider they're using and is likely tied into the AKL vs AUK type of scenario.

How long it takes to get any work for the public good done in NZ due to endless consultation instead of a bit of spine from the government.

It's excessive... some things we bog down with endless consultation and business cases, and others we rip into with just some notice. I kind of feel that we elect our central and local governments based on what they say they'll do - there's your consultation.

Couriers and transport companies who ask if there's stairs etc for a delivery and you give them full details and they confirm it's fine - then they turn up and get surprised by the stairs, and refuse to actually deliver the package. Obviously the left hand just hasn't talked to the right hand but it's still frustrating.

One can blame the Resource Management Act that successive governments have promised to fix but never do so.

This absolute nonsense from the country's biggest grifters:

Tamakis flee AKL Lockdown and ask for more money at Destiny Church Rotorua

Direct quote,

“The thing about Brian and I the whole time is that we've always believed you never come to the house of the Lord empty-handed, even though you may do an AP [automatic payment].

“ One dollar coin, two dollar coin, bring something into the house of the Lord. Bring what you can, over and above, because really it's the offering where God commands the blessing.

“The tithe is being obedient, so you bring 10 per cent. That belongs to God. And then you get to thrive on the 90 per cent.

“And then if you go over and above and give a little bit more for an offering, that's where God commands the blessing. So it's up to you – you make the decision, you make the choice.”

And then she went on to tell them that despite the fact that they didn't need another car, God had given them a new Tesla. And their puppets cheered and clapped.

These people make my blood boil the way they prey on the sheep
