Rikkitic:

Shhh! They're not supposed to realise that's the whole point. What's really annoying though is that the supermarket shelves are full of this twice-the-loss-rate rubbish, it's almost impossible to find good-quality (multiple insecticides + synergists present) single-nozzle spray any more.

I always buy Black Flag for our cockroaches. Raid is worse than useless. Once I had no choice and ended up with four cans that didn't spray at all, just a miserable liquid dribble.

I buy the off brand from Pak n Sav. It's the only one that has the piperonyl butoxide that acts as a penetrant.

@Handle9 that muppet is another old man trying desperately to remain relevant and publishes bilge like this every couple of weeks. He pushes the fact that he is Chris Bishops father as if that really means something, it doesn't. This is prime example of Stuff's dreadful content and click bait.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Handle9: This crap.

This quote really got me from this "opinion piece"...

Stuff:

Down here we are all pretty bored with Covid, and just wish that you people up in Auckland would sort yourselves out and do as nice Jacinda says. I mean, how hard is it to stay at home until your test results arrive. Stay away from people who might have it, even if they are your friends and relations. Not going to church occasionally won’t send you to hell.

I have to be frank and tell you there is a bit of grumpiness down here about the way you lot are behaving.

How about we also stop providing you lot down south with the benefits of this large city that is (as is said) the country's gateway?

Sounds like he’s volunteering to have all arrivals put up in his local area? Be great to see how ‘grumpy’ he is then.

Next thing he’ll complain about is the vaccine being rolled out in Auckland as a priority.

This more than annoys me it saddens me. The constant barrage of moaning and ignorance that ensues in the "press" and social media whenever a cycle way is planned or implemented.

I can understand it somewhat. I am in favour of most cycleways, but some of them are massively underutilized and almost certainly will be for the medium term it seems. The disruption and cost is significant.

Black Flag is effective against cockroaches, which are the only life form I can't tolerate.

Yes there is a cost and some disruption until the network is complete. However it is no more disruptive than normal road maintenance and building. The cost should be seen as infrastructure investment and with the future the planet is facing investment in alternative personal transport is vital. The cycleways are not just for provision of alternative transport they are for saving lives.

It's supposed to be "sarcasm" or maybe "parody".

Kudos to Stuff for bothering to mention that he's the father of Chris Bishop.

They should have probably mentioned that "John from Balclutha" is from Lower Hutt, because Poe's law is a thing.

They should IMO remind readers that his son Chris Bishop list MP / National spokesperson for Covid-19 Response has no formal qualification in health related matter, and his prior work experience in the field of public health was as a lobbyist for the tobacco industry.

Point of order, I believe that John Bishop lives in Highbury and not Te awakairangi. Cannot lessen the tone of the folk of such a fine city.

So about as equally qualified as the current Minister for Covid Response then? (BA in Politics and Criminology)

Seriously, isn't the qualification to be a Minister supposed to be the ability to run a large organisation, rather than detailed technical knowledge of specifics? Isn't that supposed to be the responsibility of the people on the ground? The Minister manages, supervises, and sets policy (with expert advice). Or have I got that wrong?

Take it to Politics.  This topic is meant to cheer me up.

Actually several types have that as a synergist, not just the awful-smelling Pak'n'Save stuff, which also sprays gobs of foam at times, I ended up using it outdoors for ants because of this. For people looking for a decent spray, you want two or more permethrin variants (synthetic pyrethroids) and a syngergist. Component-wise, Black Flag Fly and Insect is the best, two synergists and two permethrin variants.
