America's Cup - potentially final race at 4.15pm today. Two meetings (video calls with AU) back to back at that time. Very annoying.
Maybe the Aussies planned that on purpose - they can be a bit like that. 😁
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Internet is really bad today, seems everyone is trying to stream something and its impossible to get any calls thru that last more than 30 seconds.

The bit that annoys me is is, i want to order something in a quantity they are never likely to have in the shop, but i cant order it online as it says the store i have selected doesnt have the quantity. none of the stores do. can i not order it it online for delivery from their logistics center?
It appears Bunnings won't pool stock from multiple stores to fill a delivery order, whereas Mitre10 will, or at least will find a store that has all required items. Perhaps Bunnings stores are franchised, only sell in their own area, and don't like working as a team to keep customers happy?
that should make it even easier to do. all their items would come from a supplier or distribution center consolidate and send it out

I believe I know what software Bunnings uses for their sales & inventory management, and it doesn't support this. It would require multiple orders by the customer to multiple branches, or else multiple orders manually created to transfer the stock to a single branch followed by a single customer order from that location. But I don't see why orders are limited to items stocked at a branch; surely they can be backordered. That's available for trade customers.
People who CC you on an email (or an email chain) and then complain that you didn't get involved/take action.
If you are CCed it's FYI only. Put me in the To line if I'm being addressed, or @ me in the body of the email.

Companies who state on their website "In stock - order now and we'll ship tomorrow."
Calling a week later when not even a tracking number has been provided. The response: "It looks like our supplier won't be getting this in until mid April."

Also has anyone found the wonderfully-named Pocari Sweat here? It is a Japanese sports drink, found commonly all over SEA and is quite the best drink I have ever found for recharging you when it is hot and humid. When I am in places like Vietnam and Cambodia I drink gallons of it.
I've never seen it here though - has anyone?
I was in the area and popped into Japan Mart in Newmarket Auckland today to have a check for you, and they've got it. $2.10 per 580ml bottle, or a box of 24 for $48. They seem to have an online store too if you're keen and not in AKL or ChCh, although it didn't show up on a quick search.
neb: They never had any in stock, it and many other lines have been out of stock since before the first lockdown. Check back at random and it'll be (non) orderable again.
And it was (non-)orderable again as of last night. However, purely by coincidence I had to go to the Silverdale Bunnings with Mother Neb today, and in passing showed her the tiles mounted up on a display wall. Just below them was a whole stack of the cases of the tiles that no Bunnings anywhere in NZ has in stock, or has had in stock for months, with none coming in in the future. I bought eight cases of the zero they have on the spot, now they'll have to get eight replacement cases of them in just so they can get back up to zero in stock again.

Neither of them will. Both have the solution that you should ring your trade account manager. Not even an option to email them. No wonder builders are always standing around on the phone if that is how all the places do things.
Mitre10 are the franchised owned ones, which is why they are so much of a pain for returns, whereas Bunnings its one big company so the staff don't take it personally that your return is taking money out of their pocket.
MadEngineer: Paste a phone number with spaces into a cell in excel that’s formatted as text. Edit the cell and remove the spaces manually and all’s fine
Paste a bunch of phone numbers across a bunch of cells formatted as text, use find-replace to remove the spaces and excel also removes the leading zero
Gah!
Also:
Format special a cell as 0######## so that it always has a leading zero. That’s great until you copy from that cell and paste elsewhere as it doesn’t include the zero.
Excel dropping zeros has always been a bugbear of mine

Being unable to find Eta peanut butter. Also can't find any reason why it's disappeared from the stores. Is it a shortage? Supply issue? Re-branding?

I'd like to introduce you to Fix and Fog and Pics Peanut butter. Then you'll be able to post in the small things that make me smile thread :)
I read somewhere some international food imports are expected to be in short supply for the remainder of the year due to container shortages, reduced supply and increased demand.

I have actually tried both and one or two other brands. Still prefer Eta.
