Ge0rge: Surely they should have simply given them to you - you were only helping them make their stock accurately match their computer after all!

I actually suggested that to them, that I would resolve the discrepancy problem for them - at no charge, mind - by removing the stock that shouldn't have been there so everything would tally up again, but they declined my kind offer.

Neither of them will. Both have the solution that you should ring your trade account manager. Not even an option to email them. No wonder builders are always standing around on the phone if that is how all the places do things.

How are Placemakers in comparison? I usually avoid them because their web site doesn't list most of what they carry and I don't want to have to go there just to check whether they have what I want, but from occasional mentions on Scott Brown's videos they seem to be capable of ordering stuff in on request.

My builder used them and they were pretty bad. Separate branches to each other, and my shadowclad order wasn't fulfilled for ages because they only had some of the quantity and the idea of getting more from another branch was too much for them to do because apparantly one branch has to buy it off another branch at more expensive price than the supplier of the items. just another example of a brand failing because theyre looking after the owners more than the customers.

Losing a lens cap, and it being so damn difficult to find a replacement (95mm diameter) domestically.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

When you get an email from Caltex sympathizing with your inability to use their app, which you used the last 3 times you bought petrol.

So, unsubscribe from this patronizing BS!

But Caltex has out-thought you.

The "Unsubscribe From All" option (well, it would be an option if there was some other option) is tempting, but I do want to get notified of the 10c discount days, in case they're any other day than Wednesday.

Ugh. Yeah, I've always wondered how Placemakers manage to stay in business...

They are owned by Fletchers.

I started wondering when they ran that series of commercials showing their people skiving off and playing practical jokes instead of actually working. Their priorities do seem to be a little off.

I think it was common staff practice. I used to go into the old Paraparaumu branch as a trade customer on a weekday and watch the staff go scuttling away as they saw you coming.

I'm glad there's competition in the market, cos who whoever else is in the area, I use them instead of placemakers.

I'm also surprised they're still in business.

Trying a southern “cheese roll” only to discover that it was misdescribed and was in fact a “cheese and onion roll”. *shudder*

At the cricket...

Please for the love of God, turn down the "music" speakers.

When they drown out the music in my ear buds surely they are loud enough to break some health and safety laws

Been a while since you went to cricket internationals...

4 = music
6 = music
Wicket = music
Tea break = music
Ad break = music
Bored tv exec, = more music.

Keep playing until the umpire signals them to shut up

How distasteful. Polite clapping only, please.

Loud music is just not cricket, old man.
