Geektastic:
afe66: At the cricket...

Please for the love of God, turn down the "music" speakers.

When they drown out the music in my ear buds surely they are loud enough to break some health and safety laws

Music?! At a cricket match?!

And of course at Super rugby. And a tediously limited playlist at that.

Forgot Password links that don't send an email in a timely manner. I know some sites just say that to all attempts, but this is one where, as I haven't used it for years, I was able to confirm the email address is still in use.

Not to be taken as medical advice.

I bought Mr E Kyolic Garlic. There are several research papers about its efficacy in dropping BP and it seems to be working for him. Breathing properly and deeply also helps substantially. Next time before you take your BP take some deep yoga breathes. In slowly through the nose for a count of 5 then exhale through the mouth slowly on a count of 5. Do it a few times then take Bp. It’s amazing how fast it drops and reminds you how important slower deeper breathing is. Also important to know when to take BP...don’t exercise, smoke, drink or eat 30 minutes beforehand. Small changes can make a huge difference in the numbers.

A delivery didn't turn up yesterday. I immediately sent them an email. 24 hours later, no response, and no delivery. This time I rang them, only to find that the number just goes to a recording saying to email. Grr...

Or ones that take so long that you do it again incase you typoed, and then one appears but it was the first one and it invalidated that when it sent the second one. IMO if it takes longer to show in my active Gmail tab than it takes me to click over to that tab, they have failed.

This, on Ticketek's web site:

As the contracted ticketing provider for this event, Ticketek strongly objects to the use of unofficial ticket sellers who mislead customers

I'm getting fed up with the "Never autoplay" function not being remembered by the NZ Heralds website!

How the hell do I get hold of a Human being at Courierpost? 5 days to deliver an item within Auckland, still sitting at processing at the depot. It's *really* annoying me.

They have electronic systems, the parcel has been at the same status for 4 days, why is this not triggering action automatically.

Courier companies in this country are dumb beyond belief, the standards are in my opinion, approaching second or third-world status.

Edit: The way is to call, go through to track a parcel and deliberately enter the wrong ticket number 3 times. Person will answer afterward.

Both my partner and my son take tablets out of blister pack strips in any random order they feel like.  They will take tablets from an unopened strip before the partially used strip has been finished.   Every strip in a box will have tablets missing from them.

For some reason this drives me crazy, it almost physically pains me to look at the strips.  When I take a tablet I have to do my best to choose ones that will try and recreate some semblance of order in the strip.

I have a related one. I have to take 8 tablets a day of 1 medication, and the strips are 12 in size. I struggle with 'half used' strips for some reason, it does my head in. I know it shouldn't.

This is really good when you arrive somewhere for a two week holiday find there's only 5 days supply left in random tablets on strips bunged back in the carton. Even more fun if you're out of the country when you realise.

Also related... I have medication blister packs which are helpfully labelled Mon, Tue, etc. in a to-and-from sequence across the entire pack. But! One of my meds, which has the daily pattern, has packs which consist of 4 rows of 10 pills.

So for 6 out of 7 packs, I have to start off going backwards from the end until Sunday, so that from Monday I'm back in sync.
