Even another drug pack annoyance, I keep some broad spectrum AB's for the first aid kit on our boat.  The foil strip's been cut in half to dispense the number of tablets from the script, the expiry date for the stuff is stamped on the other half.  All I can see is that they expire in December, could be last year, could be next, could be in 5 years.

A large number of drugs are still almost fully effective even after ten years. The military, which has to maintain stockpiles of various important medicines and drugs, tested the stuff they hold and found it was still at around 90% efficacy after a decade in storage (not an implied endorsement of anything, just pointing out that the use-by date doesn't mean it goes bad a day afterwards).

Grey gib, coat of white primer/sealer, and two top coats, and you can still see shades of the grey gib underneath it.

Would complain to Resene but they'll probably just say we're holding it wrong...

I guess it is a bit of a 'two parter': People who do product reviews and either a) Narrow the whole product review to a single feature (see smartphone reviews and the review being reduced down to "is the camera awesome") b) Review a product based on a set of criteria that the product was never designed to do (see laptop reviewers complaining that an ultrabook doesn't perform well at playing games).

Incompetent refereeing that has an impact on the score, or worse, the result.

When a force of habit makes you do stupid things. In this case, arriving home and checking the letterbox... despite having seen the postie go past without delivering anything 20 seconds prior.

There were some shockers recently in the CIB 2021 Squash Semi and Finals. Howlers.

This doesn't annoy me, and doesn't make me smile per se, but it's not worth making a new thread for.

I was just in the garden when I heard a creaking from over the road. I turned and looked, just in time to see a fairly large tree coming down of its own accord. Fortunately it's a vacant section and there was nobody underneath it, but still a bit of excitement for the day!

Calling VF Business to make a change to my account. Go though the IVR options and listen to the pratlling on of the IVR lady. 90 seconds later I am told after 3 options clicked, no-one available to speak to me now.

Why, oh why, when you click the option to speak to someone do they not say it then, saving 60+ seconds of wasted time. It's not a huge amount of time, but seriously!?

MadEngineer: White butterflies.

Pantry moths. No matter what you do, sealed containers, traps, permethrin, they still get in and spoil the food.

They are the bane of my wifes existence, We finally have them under control thank God. Ended up throwing out a lot of food to get there though.
