I disagree. Not on the basis of any religious affiliation, but just because it allows a bunch of people to get together and do stuff for a 4-day period, knowing that none of them will be required to do anything else. The traffic jams that this causes are testament to the value of the Easter break.

That on Good Friday when almost everything else is not allowed to open, the Chinese Consulate in Christchurch IS OPEN, making our narrow Street as busy as any weekday!
And as usual, idiots driving up the new Cycleway (Hansons Lane Parking Lot!), or parking in it!
Geektastic: Nothing like an opportunity for a road death tally.
And the news media comparing it with last Easter.

I don’t often buy films on-line so I’m not sure if I am just looking in the wrong places, but it annoys me that I can only seem to find hard copies of the films I want, which tend not to be mainstream but more art house. For example, I am looking for a particular version of Carmen. Amazon has it, but only on DVD. I don’t want to buy into outmoded technology that takes weeks to arrive, never mind that my PC doesn’t even have a DVD player. I just want to pay my money and download the film. Why is this not made available? Amazon isn’t the only place that has this problem.
Is the recording industry obsessed with physical media for copy protection reasons? It is hard to imagine they could still be that stupid, but I suppose they could. Maybe no-one has ever told them just how easy it is to copy DVDs and even BluRays! But I don’t want to do that. Nor do I want to subscribe to a streaming or on-demand site. I just want to buy a single MP4 file. Why should this be so difficult? The pirate sites have them for free!
Anyway, that is the thing that annoys me. If I am wrong about this, could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
Definitely mentioned it before, but this Amazon UK etc won't sent stuff because of our gst crap. I'm still debating whether I want something enough to buy it from Amazon France to send to Youshop US where they add gst and overpriced airfreight to send here eventually when they get round to it.

And trying to download something from Mega which is divided into about 20 sections, of which I'm only allowed to download 5 a day.

The thing that really annoys me is that they said it was temporary, while they updated the systems to handle GST. The systems now do handle it (if you're in the EU and you buy from Amazon UK then you get charged appropriately) but still nothing for NZ.

Not to mention that what I'm looking for is at the moment about 150 Euros which equals maybe 180USD - the price for the same item at Amazon US....700USD.
Its only a boxset. Should have bought one when they were a bit thicker on the ground I suppose.
