Which brings me to my next thing that annoys me : workplace IT departments who assume that all staff are IT experts!
But isn't that what everybody puts on their CV?
MadEngineer:Rikkitic:
I don’t often buy films on-line so I’m not sure if I am just looking in the wrong places, but it annoys me that I can only seem to find hard copies of the films I want, which tend not to be mainstream but more art house. For example, I am looking for a particular version of Carmen. Amazon has it, but only on DVD. I don’t want to buy into outmoded technology that takes weeks to arrive, never mind that my PC doesn’t even have a DVD player. I just want to pay my money and download the film. Why is this not made available? Amazon isn’t the only place that has this problem.
Is the recording industry obsessed with physical media for copy protection reasons? It is hard to imagine they could still be that stupid, but I suppose they could. Maybe no-one has ever told them just how easy it is to copy DVDs and even BluRays! But I don’t want to do that. Nor do I want to subscribe to a streaming or on-demand site. I just want to buy a single MP4 file. Why should this be so difficult? The pirate sites have them for free!
Anyway, that is the thing that annoys me. If I am wrong about this, could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Thanks but I already found that. I prefer something that isn't a screen capture and has English subtitles.

This is a feature, not a bug. When you own the physical media the "rights holders" can't arbitrarily decide to revoke the permission to view their valuable work that they've temporarily granted you, under carefully controlled circumstances, and only for as long as they feel like it. Any content that I want to watch more than once I buy on physical media, because then I know that I'll still be able to watch it the second time round.

It was this one, by Francesco Rosi. I think it was filmed in 1984. I am looking for a copy with English subtitles.

If I pay money for something, it belongs to me. I don't give a damn what the 'rights holders' do. There are ways enough to get around unreasonable restrictions.

thats not how it works through as much as you want it to.
If the 'right holders' were a little less anal about it, they might not lose so much to pirates.

That Freeview PVR options seem to have dwindled (According to Freeview's site) to only the DishTV A2 backward step box, still with unresolved issues from release!
And without the Guide accessible - will not record anything! Geez the MTV3600 was better!

With on demand dominant it's a category about as relevant as DVDs. Sucks if you still like PVRs but there's no money in it for the manufacturers.
I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I wish Food Bag would actually test these recipes before subjecting the unwitting public to them.
