alasta:

When you turn off the ignition on your car, and the windscreen wipers are part way through a swipe when the electrics shut down.

This just reminded me of the good old days when wipers were vacuum-powered. You did not want to be driving up a winding mountain road in a heavy rainstorm.

Car rental websites....
Designed to annoy and confuse.

Rented 4WD for skiing. In options selected the car and dates, click chains and ski rack options and reduce excess to zero option.
Submit and its accepted. Looking at emailed receipt all above are included in itemised bill.

Checkin to confirm details with credit card drivers license etc.

Email confirms checkin.

At bottom of second email is an invitation to upgrade my booking with a ski rack option pre ticked and suggestion that I get insurance on picking up the car....

But I've already paid for both of those and they are listed on invoice so why are you trying yo get me to upgrade my booking to add things I have already bought !!!

Can't get past impression they are hoping I'll panic and upgrade to repay for things I have already paid for.....

Always get excess reduction. Australians are crap drivers in ski car parks. In 10 years I have been hit 3 times. Dents broken lights. One of which was hit and attempted run before witness approached them and forced them to leave details as tried to run away.

Then thete was the lady who jumped out of her car to put chains on and forgot to put hand break on..... and so it rolled down remarkables access road and only stopped by my rental car, and of course she had a tow bar which made a nice mess of the front of rental...5 months for the excess to be repaid to me as I clearly wasn't at fault. Should have got a reward...imagine the cost if her car had continues barrelling down the access road..

Sorry rant off.

PBT Couriers.

Been waiting for a parcel that my son ordered from a bike shop for his birthday.

Confirmed with bike shop that all details are correct - supposed to deliver within 2-3 days.

Over a week later, still waiting. I call the bike shop - they give me track and trace reference. I go on PBT website - several attempts to deliver - note on list of actions, "please call PBT to confirm delivery address".

Call PBT - on hold for 15min. I ask what's going on. They give me an incorrect address that the courier has been trying to deliver to. I confirm my address is NOT that address. They try telling me I got my address wrong. Several parcels have been delivered correctly from same bike shop. From the same order. With different courier companies. They tell me I'll get my parcel tomorrow.

Call again today as there's no update on T&T details. They tell me that the parcel will not be delivered today as because I got the address wrong, they need to print a new label. I stated again that I did not get the address wrong and I don't know how the label could be printed incorrectly as all other items in the order were correctly addressed. Operator got aggressive, told me that I am being unreasonable and that the courier will deliver in a few days time when they have corrected my mistake and that's basically that.

Seems they don't really like customers.

You would think Microsoft would have learned something over the past decades, but no, Windows bugs are just as dumb as always. The latest I have encountered: unplug USB drive and the DVD drive opens. The fix? Disable autoplay!

Why are you doing the bike shops job for them? Tell them its not there, and it should be there and if they cant get PBT to sort it out to either ship another with someone else or refund you, and they need to recover it from the inept courier.

Rejected Wikipedia edits where it's A but some Wikipedia 'editor' has decided it should be B because they think that's what it should be, and since they're an 'editor' they can override any correction you make.

I've really got better things to do with my life than go through some complex dispute process to try and override some 'editor' who thinks their personal opinion of how reality should work overrides how it actually works. Just to put this into perspective, my edits cited the original Microsoft Technet articles stating how it worked - and, snarky comments about Microsoft aside, how it really did work - her edits were just "I don't agree with this, reverting". If they want me to waste my time with someone like that, they can pay me for the time I'm wasting.

Well you probably shouldn't be a wikipedia editor.

Dealing with someone replacing referenced comment with opinion won't be a "complex dispute process".  Report them for vandalism.

If there are two referenced comments with directly conflicting information, then maybe both should be included.  If the conflicting references both came from Microsoft, then colour me surprised.

If you've got better things to do with your life, then you found the time to post a grievance here - where it'll have zero impact.

Somewhere else on the interweb, maybe the person who annoyed you is posting the mirror image of what you posted.

To be fair this thread seems to exist so people can vent - not necessarily find a solution.

I concur. I rarely come here looking for a resolution. I just want a bl00dy good moan.

Fair point.

Venting about something when a solution is obvious annoys me.
