Handsomedan:
Why do some people raise their kids to be such ar$holes?
The worry is when some kids do it without training.
I feel sorry for your lad. He dealt with it quite maturely by the sound of it.

Bonobos. Like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism, just like most of the posters in this thread.
That makes me smile.
Ooops, off topic :-)

If it makes you feel any better, if I caught either of my kids participating in mocking a kid under that circumstances, you wouldn't have to punish them, they would already have been so, by me!
To be fair, I'd be extremely surprised as well though, since we have always made a really big point of ensuring our kids spend time considering how what they say might impact another and treating others the way they themselves would like to be treated.
I also struggle to understand why this doesn't form a core part of parenting for people.

I suspect that the ar$hole kids know exactly how what they say might impact another, and that's exactly *why* they say it.

The weather, yesterday 16c so got out the warmer clothes, today it's 25c .
Common sense is not as common as you think.

To be fair, I know plenty of extremely unpleasant kids who grew up to be pretty decent adults, and a few the other way too.
A fair amount of bullying stems from insecurity. It manifests itself in quite a few ways.
But then, some kids are just genuinely unpleasant.
I did have a person track me down once, to apologise for the way he treated me in high school. Said it had bothered him a lot throughout his adult years. Didn't want my forgiveness, though I felt if it bothered him enough to fly the length of the country to apologise it was doing neither of us any good to hold on to old wounds. We aren't friends as much as friendly.

The white flight of Derek Black.
That's the son of the guy who founded Stormfront. Warning, it's a bit of a long read...
Geektastic: Hand sanitiser that is ejected horizontally instead of vertically when the pump is depressed.
That happened to me last night at a restaurant. What's worse is that the counter that the pump was sitting on was at chest height, making the pump head height, and I received a face-full of sanitiser gunk.
Dairy's that advertise products they don't even have in stock or sell yet!

Lied about delivery attempt!
No such attempt was made - video surveillance and lack of attempted delivery card proves it!
Then an eternal wait to get to a human, who says "We'll try and deliver tomorrow" !
Wow - they are bad!
Large companies who only provide a web form for you to contact them in writing - require an email address as part of the form completion, but do not email you back your web form submission. This is not hard to do! But does make it very easy to deny that you ever sent them anything in the first place.

And if they do email it back then it gets used for spamming people, and then their websites ability to email anything will quickly get blocked with all the reports.
