This is legitimately something I didn't know. It applied to my dishwasher, I'm sure it'll apply to many others.

Well same - I watched the whole thing and now I'm conflicted. We do have the prewash compartment.

I buy the finish tabs as it means my 10 year old can start the dishwasher. With 2kg bottles of powder it's pretty awkward. The dishwasher does a 'fine' job

May have to reconsider.......
