Stupid security questions:

"What is your favourite music video?"

"The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade".

You like powertools so surely it should be satisfaction by benny banassi?

After every Mac OS update you're asked whether you want to use Siri. It remembers every other preference you set, so why must it ask about Siri every single time?

Just updated MBP to Big Sur 11.3.1 and took notice of whether I got any Siri requests. Nothing like that - when the update was complete, I logged back in and was taken back to where I was when I started the update. No messages at all.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Interesting. 11.2, 11.3, 11.3.1... all have asked for me. It doesn't ask anything else, just whether I want to enable Siri.

Do you already have it enabled? Maybe it only pesters you if it's turned off.

Edit: It's not just me!

You're probably right - and that makes sense. I never use Siri and had forgotten whether it was enabled or not. Just checked and it is enabled.

So your complaint is justified.

I am amazed that anyone uses Siri given how useless it is.

I used to occasionally ask it to "play RNZ National", but now it's forgotten what RNZ National is.

One other time I tried to use it in the car I told it to "read my notifications" but it cut me off when I got as far as saying "read my note..." and then it started reading out random stuff from my notes app.

Waste of time if you ask me.

I pressed it once when I received a text message. "Read me my latest message" / "You don't have any messages".

Dunno how small this counts as, but the monkey at Resene who mixed a 4L pot of paint in the wrong shade so that after painting almost the entire deck in it and needing another 500ml or so to finish up few areas we've got a shade of paint that matches no known Resene colour. And short of tearing off a piece of the deck to take down to them to beat them over the head with, no sample that they can colour match with.

I'd prefer to have really boring, mundane problems.

Surely you'd have recourse under CGA or FTA for product not fitting the purpose intended.  As in, clearly not the colour you requested if they can't match or figure out what they provided.

I had a similar no match found issue but it was a "returned batch" of some kind that was taken on an as is where is basis.  Couldn't get a match to finish the roof in the same shade.  The Garage roof is a slightly lighter shade than the house but unless you knew to look for it, you'd never notice and just assume different angles.

Had thought about that but I'm not sure how feasible it is, the original (empty) tin went out in a skip along with a ton of other building material when the deck was done and the receipt just says Resene Lumbersider 4L so it's my word against theirs. If I had the original tin labelled "Rodeo Dust" when it isn't or the receipt gave the colour I might have a chance, but I'm not sure how far I'll get with an unsupported claim of "you gave me the wrong shade of paint".

Can't you remove a thin sliver of the deck and make them match it? If they can't match their own paint you win. Don't you?

You need a minimum size patch for them to match on. What's painted is the beams under the deck and the pergola over it, not the deck surface itself, we'd already looked at that but there's no obvious bit to remove. In the end we unbolted one of the (non-structural) SS brackets and took that down, that was a large enough sample to get a match on. What's annoying is that it's cost a tin of Rodeo Dust to find out they'd got the colour in the first one wrong, a second tin of the off-colour, and a pile of time for the painter, to sort out.

("Painter" because there are some inaccessible bits that you need a harness to paint, which I've outsourced).
