Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself - A. H. Weiler
Just finished Altered Carbon
Mix of Matrix, Highlander and Sherlock Holmes.
Exciting at times, but at others too artsy.
I'm always guilty of getting excited about where I think a series/movie is going, and then being unrealistically disappointed when it doesn't end up going there.
Still, I'd put around 6.5/10
scuwp:
May have mentioned it previously but just now finished Sense8 currently available on Netflix.
Really excited that they made a final episode. This show went massive on a global scale, so the costs must have been huge.
Netflix just cancelled it on a cliffhanger, but due to public global demand they did a longer one off to conclude it, rather than leave it forever unresolved.
A quick google suggests that episode may have come out now, Amor Vincit Omnia 8th June 2018, so I'll go and track that down.
Season 1 - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - Amazon
Love the characters and the humor 8/10
Season 1 - The Man in the high castle - Amazon
Great setting, good actors and a high quality production 8/10
Geektastic: Detectorists.
Thoroughly charming gentle comedy written by and starring Mackenzie Crook amongst others.
Enjoyed this. At least, series one and two. No series three on NZ Netflix! argh... Plan B
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Watched a few episodes of Detectorists but then got diverted to Elementary (catched up the last full season and now watching episodes weekly), plus A Very Secret Service Season 2 is now on Netflix - watched three episodes last night.

The following series are now out on DVD but originally I believe were on Sky.
TUT - 6.5/10 - A miniseries (in 3 parts) concentrating on the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt. A bit soap-opera. Ben Kingsley is a bit disappointing.
Penny Dreadful - 8/10 - Explorer Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), American gunslinger Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), scientist Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), and medium Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) unite to combat supernatural threats in Victorian London. Van Helsing, Dr. Jekyl and Dorian Grey also pop in. Plots lines include creatures from Egyptian Book of the Dead, vampires and few other nasties.
Only 27 episodes over 3 seasons were made. I'm half through season 1 and enjoying it so far.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
cooper's treasure s1e1 on discovery channel.
lost treasure, the bermuda triangle, family dramas, a load of bunkum
2/10
Rake - AU Season 5 Episode 1.
I love this show and am crushed it's the last season.
I am unsure what to make of this episode, but it usually takes some time to warm up.
I hpoe they don't ruin it with a stupid ending.
The Originals - Netflix (IMDb) 8/10 A spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries" (which I have never watched) focuses on the original vampire family who return to New Orleans to reclaim the city they helped build that is now under the control of a diabolical vampire who was 'made' by them. Witches, Werewolf's and Hybrids are thrown in to complicate matters.
Great script with good acting. Joseph Morgan plays a really great psychotic villain protagonist. Though each separate episode does contain a separate story line, like the True Blood series (which is of the same genre & quality) it has the continuing underlying story. Good period sets. So far they have made five seasons including upto Aug 2018. Netflix has 1-4 seasons.
I am really enjoying this series and as I said it has the same quality feel as True Blood which I also very much enjoyed, except maybe the middle of the series, and I have on DVD. I hope this series does not suffer this middle of the series 'where do we go from here now' problem.

The Staircase - 13 episode documentary series on Netflix about the death of a woman who, her husband says, fell down the stairs in her house, and the trial (and aftermath) of her husband for her murder.
Absolutely fantastic and gripping stuff - we're up to episode nine, but we're ploughing through at the rate of a couple of episodes a night.
Most of the episodes are a number of years old, however three new episodes were commissioned when the series was purchased by Netflix (I think).

Agree - very good. The three final/additional episodes are already up and running on NF.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The Bodyguard S01E01 - good british drama
It's great when people recommend a show - but it would be better if they could just add where they saw it.

Ozark Season 2 has landed today on Netflix - hope this season is as good as the first
