Anyone know where the full range of Samsung Cases are on display in central Auckland for trying with the new S26U. I can't stand the camera bump.

PB Tech usually has a decent range, but sure if you can try them out though.

Is it a new thing that when a port on an ONT doesn’t have provisioning, it will fail to negotiate an active Ethernet connection?  I’ve noticed this on a few sites now after certain faults. Seems to be new behaviour.

Previously when we’ve had provisioning issues there would still at least be an active eth link. But now a port without provisioning only goes active momentarily when the ONT is rebooted.

Chorus.

That sounds better than a active eth link but not provisioned.

Agree, if known it makes for a good indicator of what the fault might be otherwise until you run a power cycle it looks like a bad patch lead or dead ONT

Do POS terminals really need to ask for an account? How about a default account. Provide a separate entirely optional button if you really want to select an account.

Anyway my EFTPOS card always fails if I select 'savings' at the POS terminal so the option is useless for me anyway.

Yeah for some reason I've become obsessed with the number of unnecessary presses at the self checkout. This one applies to any transaction anywhere.

At least my local Kmart has them the right way around now. For a long time they had Cheque on 2 and Savings on 1. I have no idea how widespread that was.

Yes, they do need to as they have no idea what is loaded against your card at the bank. Paywave will default to credit and go thru as such if pushing buttons really bothers you, or else get your bank to connect savings to the same account if you are not able to choose the correct option all the time.

Why are some potatoes sold washed, and yet others are sold brushed. Still covered in dirt?

I queried my bank (ANZ) about this a while ago. Only specific savings account suffixes work apparently. Can't remember the details sorry, except that I didn't have one of that type.

Do you want to do your own washing or pay for someone else to wash them?

In any case the "washed" potatoes you see in the supermarket are comparatively expensive and also won't last long once you get them home.

Always annoys me to see the potatoes sitting out in the open like that, it's not the way to store them.

I got caught out by that a long time ago, when my Savings account had a fee of however much it was, every time I withdrew/paid out of that account.

Muscle memory I was pressing 1 at Kmart thinking it was Cheque....

When I did check my accounts, I was not happy to find fees added to my Savings account for the few times I used it at Kmart!

Recently the washed are cheaper or exactly the same price. Good point about storage.

Combination of consumer preference and processor I guess.
