Vindication is nice. "They" laughed when I was implementing a system for making local backups of packages from Microsoft's developer repository (NuGet). Guess what service has been down for the past hour, and guess who's been completely unaffected! laughing

Plugged new TV into Receiver (utilisation HDMI with audio return) and it all just worked together nicely.  Receiver, TV, BD.  All working off the Samsung remote.  No issues.

Doing buy/sell deals with fellow Geekzoners; dealing with intelligent grown-ups.

So much more painless than using that other well-known NZ auction site.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

We have the annual audit happening at the moment and I have just learned that when auditors go to the clients office they call that 'field work'

I got mental picture of auditors going bush with their laptops and highlighters.

That even though I completely stuffed my Kodi install by deleting the cache data from all apps on my Android box, somehow Kodi miraculously recovered everything when I power cycled it. For once I shot myself in the foot and missed. What a rare and wonderful sensation.

Sending my wife to refill a tank of petrol for the lawnmower when she went shopping... in her Nissan Leaf which has likely never been in a petrol station before ☺️

Used Trade Me's "book a courier" service yesterday after selling some items

I was quite happy that the price offer by both Fastway and Courier Post for sending items between the islands; over the counter at NZ Post - $13.20
Fastway - $7.75 and Courier Post - $8.58, with pickup at my address.
