Had a delivery dispatched yesterday 5.30 pm and it arrived today at 12pm, that's ridiculously fast, surely that's not coming straight from Sydney right?

Did you pay for expedited shipping? DHL is overnight to the main centres!

DHL is pretty good speed-wise, I got something from Connecticut in the US and it arrived in Christchurch 3 days later. Same for my sister, 3 days from there to Dunedin. So from Australia overnight is pretty accurate.

Oral-B Pro 2 2000 Electric Toothbrush ordered on August 12. Delivered today, 2-3 days earlier than expected.
Electric toothbrush prices are nuts in NZ. They seem to have a bigger markup than building products!

Not wrong. Even if you take advantage of Shave Shops (NZ) decent prices + $10 sign up code, or pricebeat at Briscoes, it's still $30-$80 more than what's available on Amazon AU. Oral-B Pro 2 2000 is a great toothbrush for around $70 NZD. Even cheaper if you take advantage of Amazon AU app codes.

I was looking a few weeks ago but never got around to pushing go. The Oral B I have was one of the high end models from the US about 6-7 years ago when they were NiCad battery based so it's getting annoying having to put it on charge every day.

I bought some heads for my Philips one from Amazon. Even including shipping it was around 30% cheaper than anywhere else in NZ. $25 versus $35.

I buy my heads from 1 Day. 8 heads for $15.

everettpsycho: Ordered hyrule warriors back on 16/8, took them 10 days to dispatch it, so left NSW warehouse yesterday, it's already here. So not great turn around with dispatching but excellent delivery time. In theory they could offer prime at that speed on smaller cheaper items that have minimal customs issues. I expected delays hard on the situation over there and closed travel Bible but pleasantly surprised at the delivery time frame.
I guess they're taking their time to dispatch standard delivery orders and then using DHL Express to get it there by the date --- probably not enough commerical flights to use "normal" methods!
Just got this email from Amazon AU
We’re writing to notify you of a change to Visa credit card payments on Amazon.com.au.
Due to the costs associated with Visa transactions, beginning 1 November 2021, Amazon will apply a 0.5% surcharge to purchases made using Visa credit cards on Amazon.com.au. You can avoid the surcharge by using any debit card, Zip, or any non-Visa credit card like a Mastercard, Amex, or UnionPay card. Additionally, we are working to add more, faster and cheaper payment options for customers.
We know this may be an inconvenience, and our customer service team is standing by to help. Thank you for your understanding, and for being an Amazon customer.

Yes, a bit annoying even if only 0.55% but that's in addition to the foreign transaction charges
I'm thinking that setting up an Aus debit card via Wise might be worthwhile. I've been impressed with prices and delivery on Aus Amazon
