Slingshot basic fibre connection here.

No gaming system, just a laptop.

Any improvement would be great :-)

Slingshot Gigabit Fibre

Yep, I'm hardly competitive though

Better latency and less cables is always going to be an improvement!

I got fibre connection and don't have gaming setup yet. But fibre pro would help when I setup to play games without any delays even if anyone else at home is streaming anything.

Current connection: Vodafone Ultrafast HFC

Gaming setup: None for me but two others in the house have them: two custom builds cabled

Fibre Pro would be expected to improve gaming due to lower ping and higher and more stable throughput.

Well, this is timely. We are building at the moment, and just yesterday the wife said "Have you thought about your internet connection?" (Sparky had just been). So I'm in the market, so to speak :)

Current broadband: Spark 4G wireless

Gaming setup: I'm in a garage in a Mitre10 trestle table!

How will it help? Fibre >> wireless for a start!

Our current broadband is BigPipe fibre 300/100.
We've got a few gaming setups here:

-PS5 with a 65" OLED in the lounge,

-Grown-ups WFH & VR setup with i7 & gtx1080ti,

-Kids gaming pc with i7 & gtx760,

-Nintendo Wii with 40" TV for the little guy.

A fibre pro connection might let us download a bit faster, support a few more devices, and live stream our gaming.

Voyager 300/100 fibre.

I'm not a gamer, but I'm sure a better broadband/wireless setup would improve movie streaming and the like.

My gaming setup:

I have an uncapped fibre connection from slingshot, I game on an Xbox series X, I’m not sure - is a fibre pro connection faster than regular uncapped fibre?

1. What is your current broadband connection: Fibre with Vodafone

2. Gaming setup? A PS4 connected to a 32" TV. This is all squished into the corner using WIFI

3. How would a Fibre Pro connection improve your gaming? I regularly experience slow performance on Vadafone. DNS timeouts, lost connectivity. Recently I have had my devices losinjg internet connectivity and I have to switch from one SSID to another. They are on the same devide and it is annoying and I have not had time to fix the issue

I have Spark GigaFibre

I have Logitech mechanical keyboard, Intel 12900K and RTX 3080Ti but I don't really game much anymore.

Fibre Pro would help with latency

freitasm:

To be in to win you have to reply to this thread with an answer to these questions "What is your current broadband connection (xDSL, fibre, satellite, dial-up) and do you have a gaming setup? How would a Fibre Pro connection improve your gaming?" You get a second entry in the draw if you post a picture of your existing gaming setup.

My current broadband connection is wireless Internet. I play Microsoft Chess, Freecell and Hearts. I doubt Fibre Pro would improve my gaming since I don't have access to fibre. I never win anything and am only here for the irony.

My entry is for my 8yr old daughter who wants me to build her a rig from old parts laying around. This would make her day winning a sweet razer package.

Current broadband: 2Degrees fibre gigabit (staying with family until our house is built but previous isp was Orcon before we shifted back to Auckland)

We are huge data consumers with multiple devices and streams running concurrently at any given time with 2 adults working from home so gigabit is a must

Photo attached is my rig used for gaming and WFH. It's a temp setup until we move in a month.
