You can get a decent pie, in a wider variety of flavours to choose from, at your local bakery for about $2.50 (and that's in over-priced Auckland), so the new "Georgie Pie" is simply pricing itself out of the market for anyone with common sense. Of course the problem is that McDonalds don't actually make the pie - it is made elsewhere and then trucked to the shops for reheating.
It's the same problem with the KFC pie introduced not long ago, and the Jesters pies (although I think those are actually semi-made in the stores using prepackaged ingredients rather than from scratch like a bakery) ... which was another reason for McDonalds to try and bring Georgie Pie back now.
