War is on and off again so keep an eye on your important Meds as they may be affected.

Yep, lucky for the people of Wellington (I know you didn't really get a summer this year). It looks like it's going to be rather unpleasant for a good chunk of NZ, especially (but not limited to) the upper north island and the east coast. Again. As well as early evacuations, emergency alerts have already gone out for many others this afternoon. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

It was even wet in Blenheim.  The stormwater detention pond in our neighbourhood almost filled up.

Non event in Wellington for a change. Sorry for all the people it hit though.

Meanwhile, there’s a 'big, beautiful blockade' to make fuel shortages worse. Airlines keep emailing deals for holidays - are they sane?

Until some urgency is announced people will continue to ignore whats likely in the coming months and there will be a sudden rush to prep when realisation of shortages hits.

News this morning from police that fuel thefts are rising. Any recommendations for anti theft devices might be useful now.

We park close to the garage wall on the fuel cap side of our doorless garage which makes it difficult for a thief to manoeuvre.

With more troops being sent over today, the indications for this war ending soon are not promising. Equally concerning is that farmers are now voicing concerns about fertiliser supplies for Spring planting.

There’s still enough warmth to plant some greens at home. Try starting seeds in eggshells with a hole in the bottom and standing them in the egg carton as they grow. Then crush the eggshell so roots can escape and plant the whole thing in dirt or pots. The Warehouse had NZ spinach seeds and perpetual spinach.
