I am relatively sure that the recipe I used a few years ago to make home cooked Hot Cross Buns came from here, but search as I might, I haven't found what I believe to be the right one. I recall fruit peel being in the list of ingredients (which is essential in my view for the classic taste).

Looks like Woolworths have fruit peel.

And New World and Pak’n Save.

There are usually people in any forum. The best way to have an objective discussion might be to start one that way and continue one that way.

Fair point, thanks. I'm more interested in being an audience rather than participating though. With the election coming up I'm hoping to read some balanced and constructive debate on the various offerings from all parties, and hopefully also have some "hmm, I hadn't thought of that" moments.

Last election it crossed my mind to create a thread for each policy area, starting with a summary and links to the party policies, to get some of that going. It would not have been easy to maintain.

The biggest problem with that people drift off topic or want to raise random things.

My prediction based on past experience - as we get closer to the election, someone will be motivated to create a Chris Hipkins topic to match the Luxon topic. NZ First discussion will be mixed into both topics. Green Party policies will tend to be raised only in relation to National or Labour and not independently. Likewise ACT policies. That all kind of works to some extent, but I agree with your experience in general detailed policy impact discussion tends to be derailed by one dimensional flag waving and flag burning of one colour or another.

Edit: We may see a TOP topic this time around because TOP are polling apparently

Hell yes - they’re beautiful. We were given some recently - scooped ‘em out onto my breakfast cereal, added a dollop of yoghurt - yum. Mrs Code just ate them with a teaspoon, scooped out of the half like kiwifruit.

You can cook great apple and feijoa pies and tarts with them too.

I do. Had a feijoa crumble in the weekend and it was very nice. I have trees but they got the guava moth which I could not get rid of so I cut them right back. I suspect moth is still around and when there is fruit again they will just be back. We will see.
