Handsomedan:

Hmm...just read the new character to replace Riggs is going to be played by Sean William Scott.

I can't help but feel that this will quickly lose its audience.

I like him in other things, but as a main character in a show that is really about Riggs, as opposed to Murtaugh? Yeah, nah.

I'll watch with an open mind though.

I watched it yesterday on Hulu). Yeah, nah. Riggs is crazy man, that's the whole story.

I've watched the first 8 (of 10) episodes of Castle Rock on Lightbox. Really enjoying it. Set in the Stephen King "multiverse" and has quite a few nods and references to many of his novels. I'm hoping it has a strong ending.

Finish this now. Didn't turn out at all like I expected. Recommended viewing, especially if you are a Stephen King fan.

My current viewing:

The Bodyguard (BBC, now available on demand on TVNZ) Fantastic edge of seat stuff - really well written (as is anything by Jed Mercurio) and a great cast too. His next series of Line of Duty is due in 2019 and can't come quickly enough!

Vanity Fair on ITV. Frivolous nonsense but perfect Sunday-evening-don't-need-to-think-too-hard TV.

Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime. Usual OTT American stuff but a solid 8/10 for me so far.

Just started watching The Staircase on Netflix. Similar to Making A Murderer and a fascinating/disturbing insight into the American justice system. Looking forward to the second season of Making A Murderer too.

"Maniac" - Netflix. Quirky. Alternate-future / sci-fi psycho drama / comedy. Emma Stone channeling Margot Robbie.....and doing a great job.

I enjoyed it. A LOT of smoking, but then I realised it seemed to be a joke...as the place was littered with overflowing, filthy ashtrays. But Netflix series seem to REQUIRE pretty much everyone to smoke. It's a big turn-off for me.

"Castle Rock" - Lightbox - was pretty good. Stuck with it. Not sorry.

"American Vandal" - Netflix. pretty much hilarious.....with some darker themes embedded in it. You realise at the end it was obvious all along who painted the dicks on the 27 teacher cars......

I'm almost finished a rewatch of The Sopranos with my wife.  About 5 episodes left in the series. Such a great show.

Have to decide what's next on the rewatch list.  Possibly a toss up between Battlestar Galactica (2003) or Breaking Bad.

At this moment, the only series I've retained for re-watching at some point is The Wire.

I'd say this is one of the best, and probably my favourite, series I've ever watched; I tried out both Treme and The Deuce - both also created by the same guy - and couldn't get into either of them.

Yeah I'm not a fan of The Wire.  I could never get into it.  The Deuce is quite cool IMO.

The Neighbourhood - New Comedy series. Really enjoyed it, multiple laugh out loud moments. Strong casting. I am unsure if it will end up a little like Blackish, over the top racial tones in an attempt to be funny, but looking forward it next episode.

Disenchantment - Just finished the first season on Netflix, thought it was fantastic. Love the world they've built an the characters are interesting and fairly developed too. The season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger though, so it's annoying having to wait for the next season to come out.

Money Heist - Fantastic show about a guy who recruits a team to pull of the biggest heist in history, also on Netflix. Really well made, it's in Spanish and really well acted. Without ruining too much, there's lots of twists and turns throughout the season that really kept me watching. Highly recommended!

Killing Eve Season 1 TVNZ OnDemand 8/10

Quirky comedy/thriller that got better as it went on with an MI6 agent chasing down a classy assassin. The ineptness of the MI6 agent was a little irritating at times but apart from that it was very entertaining.

Deep State TVNZ OnDemand 6/10

Predictable MI6/CIA Middle East based thriller made bearable by Mark Strong in the main role.
