Count two seconds and then to five seconds and tell us what incredible changes happened in your life in that time.

@Handle i think you are very lucky to be away from it, I envy you.

Drivers here are certifiable but still generally nicer than NZ.

The scariest trip as a passenger I've ever had, was in an old taxi in Dubai who drive over 170Kmph down the main highway back to our hotel. It was quite the contrast to the 2 and a bit hour trip to the souks on the way IN, in a car that could have safely done 170Kmph.

I'm really not surprised. The good thing about driving here is you are never surprised. Anything is possible.

The worst is an hour before sunset during Ramadan.

People who punch down really p1ss me off.

There's a restaurant run by and Australian guy here that has just announced it's closing. They've made some mistakes and haven't gotten it right but some A-hole has jumped on a WhatsApp group I'm on and proclaimed good riddance , they deserve it. It's a dog move.

Handle9: I really don't miss NZ passive aggressive driving.

There's a lot less of the passive part of the aggressive driving in Auckland these days...

The fact that the cell sites nearest to the testing centres are completely swamped due to the number of people stacked up there.

The software in my sights today is Outlook.

If it's 3:00 now and the quiz is at 3:05, why is that in 7 minutes?

Edit: And why is that screenshot huge?!

IMO a fair bit of that stems from the passive aggressive nonsense. Just let people in, it's not that hard.

Now I am getting really annoyed whenever I play games on my Windows desktop. I've moved to an M1 Mac mini as my daily driver so silent computing is the norm. The Windows PC sounds like a jet engine now.

Annoyance du jour: That the list of media releases on the Ministry of Health site is sorted by date, but not time. I think if there are multiple releases in a single day, then they appear in reverse alphabetical order.

Edit: Nope! It's unspecified. Reload the page and they might pop up in a different order.

I posted something by mistake in this thread, deleted it when I realised my mistake, I still appear on the forum list as the person with the last post in this thread, so feel obliged to post this useless bit of trivia just to make sure everything is correct.

It annoys me that I didn't accidentally post in the smiles thread - but this whiners thread.

Mullets, no not the fish.

Forget the 3rd covid wave, the 3rd wave of Mullet hair cuts on men is just a crime against humans. It induces PTSD in those that have had 1, especially us originals.

The 2nd wave was disturbing to the point of mild hullicantions.

The 3rd, whhhyyyy? If you 8-28yo, do not get a Mullet. You will regret it one day (usually the 2nd day the fad is over), and you will likely want all photos of you with it destroyed. But you lucky new kids have all the trappings of social media to remind. you, bahahaha.

I only scoff as Ive been there.

Villiame Kickau's is probably the most disturbing, with the skunk style is painted from the back all the way down the mullet, oh the sessions he will need.

"We’re going to whine so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of whining".

May have spelled that wrong...

Hullicantions, right click-add to dictionary. I give up.  I'm off to forage the backyard for mushrooms.

When people mock the moo-lay.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
