Behodar:

I have a rule not to buy glassware from Briscoes as the price stickers are pretty much impossible to get off.

For the exact opposite, there's Bonne Maman jam, which is kinda pricey but they do a few flavours that you can't otherwise get. The labels are paper with water-soluble adhesive, just leave it in a bowl of water for 30 minutes and it slides off cleanly.

The jars are wide-mouthed and just the right size for holding the 500g lots of screws and nails that used to come in plastic containers but are now in useless plastic bags.

Anyone reading from a script and lacking the imagination of authority to actually do anything about your problem.

Stickers on items that don't peel off clean.  Arrrgh!!!!

It's not like we don't have the adhesive technology!

We bought a new Fisher and Paykel fridge recently. It had a couple of stickers on it that came off very easily - but the stupid energy star rating one probably took us a good 10 minutes to peel and slowly get off - even with the help of De-Solvit. Ahhhhhhh

We had a dishwasher that was 5 years old when we sold the property it was in. We never managed to get the Energy Star sticker off!

Just looked at that. While it says i doesn't damage surfaces, I would be very reluctant to use something like that on the front of my expensive new stainless steel fridge!

Of course that's what spot testing is for.

I just use a hair dryer (not mine!) to heat the label before trying to remove it. Any remaining residue I use meths or isopropyl alcohol. It seems to work fine for 99% of labels with apparently permanent adhesive.

Friend bought something from briscoes once as a gift and they put sold tape on it. It was some form of plastic vase thing. Ruined it peeling it off and returning it was a nightmare.

You could try asking the manufacturer and seeing what they suggest.

Problem is that stuff will attack a lot of things, paint, varnish, some plastics, ... it's a tradeoff between fast-acting but potentially nasty solvents and chemicals, and slow but safe stuff.

You can absolutely still use the "slow but safe stuff" on delicate surfaces after heating the sticker with a hair dryer.

Heck no! My hair dryer is a heat gun. It's likely to melt whatever the sticker is on.
