The Haunting of Hill House

Good story etc, well worth watching, but not the fright fest as its hyped to be. If you faint/vomit/freak out over the "scary" bits in this, youve got some bigger issues to be dealing with imho ;)

Penny Dreadful Season 1 8/10

Entertaining Victorian horror with Eva Green starring. A little slow at times but mixes characters such as Frankenstein and Dorian Gray very effectively and atmospherically.

‘The Kominski Method’ on NF - with Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin - really very good IMO.

I love Shameless US, not so much the UK version its based on.

If you see the humor in the social shipwreck of Californication, I think you will like this one too.

I quite enjoyed it, but 8 episodes of only 25min each just isn't enough.

Definitely the Simpsons.

Even though I have not watched like the past 8 seasons. It was always on during dinner time so I'd have it on in the background while I ate. Seen every old episode at least 20-30 times.

Carnivale Season 2 from 2004

The battle between good and evil in the American dustbowl of the 1930's continues. Very atmospheric and strong characters makes for an engaging experience.

It's a shame though that there was no season 3 as the finale obviously intended there be more seasons as some storylines were left in limbo and others had just started.

mmmm I am the opposite. Much preferred the UK version. The USA version, well, just comes across as a parody of the UK original.

They did this with Queer as Folk where the UK version, though shorter, was far superior. Till Death Do Part which was remade in the USA as All In The Family another rip off where the UK version was better.

End of episode 1. Genre is scifi horror. First two episodes are free without Red. Worth it.

Eyewitness just arrived on Lightbox and it is brilliant 9/10 (IMDb)

When a teenage gay couple witness a triple murder, one of them will do anything to avoid being outed to his homophobic father and both boys to their small middle American town. The two 15 year old boys secretly meet up in the forest, only to witness a blood bath. They are seen, but escape trying to keep this as a secret, both in fear of the perpetrator and that their secret love for each other will be revealed.

OK - This series has it all: Very much in the vein of Fargo and Ozark (both on Netflix). A tenacious female sheriff, multiple plots, twists and story lines, multiple murders, multiple mysteries, LGBT as some of the central characters, straight & gay sex scenes, violence, underage sex, fostering teenagers, drug cartels & mobsters. Multiple character building and their multiple relationships (adults & teens). Troubled adults and their relationships. Hormonal teens trying to find their identity and to fit in in small town USA.

This 2016 USA Network 10 episode show is based on the Norwegian series and is fantastically written and like Fargo and Ozark is a breath of fresh air from the usual mystery drama's made in the USA though it is set in Canada. Sadly the show was cancelled after the first series. Thought there is an online partition to restart it I believe.

A must watch.
