Thanks for the answers folks, much appreciated. The key is warmth. Being in a wheelchair over the cold months means one’s legs can get very cold. Looking at the prices they are inexpensive so I will give them a try.

 

Corduroy material is also cotton and quite warm, sort of self striped velvety outside that men of a certain age enjoy. Don’t underestimate a warm pair of merino or poly Long Johns under any pants.  A pair of thick acrylic or microfiber leg warmers would also do the trick. 

Definitely consider a radiant heater. Not fan. I have one that I use most nights because the stupid 8kw Heatpump throws cool air by the time it reaches me down at floor level and feet freeze. I bought one for someone stubborn and ill whose legs were always cold and I notice he always has it near him. 

It’s the Goldair radiant heater which is on sale this weekend. I swear by this wee heater and on one bar it uses only 400watts. 800w with both bars on. I guarantee you will bake and sing my praises every time you turn it on.
