A strange question. I have never worn Moleskin pants and the only thing I know about them is that they are made of wool. So my question is are they warm, are they comfortable, do they where well?

Do they bag at the knee?

Moleskins are usually relatively stiff and a reasonably tight fit. I used to wear them growing up, because we had a deer farm and they were the most kick-resistant pants for wearing in the deer shed. I don't recall them bagging at the knee (sued to wear them on quad bikes etc. No warmer than jeans IME.

These days if I wanted warm, comfy pants .. I'd go for some of the polar fleece pants made for hunting - stoney creek, ridgeline etc. H&F and Marine Deals are forever having specials on that stuff.

In the Land-Transport ad about drug-driving (the one with the upside down ute), why have they started blurring Dizzy's face? They used to depict her eyes open, having a seizure, bleeding from the head. Now her face is blurred. I don't care either way, just curious. It did seem odd that blood was running uphill. I see the ad on YT, if that makes any difference.

I don't think she was dead (seizing = alive?). But it was somewhat graphic and quite impactful.

I also wondered if it might be because she looks slightly similar to the woman who died in a crash in Canterbury recently.

This is a small question about motorcycle licensing.

Once you pass the Restricted CBTA, you must ride for 9 months (on a LAMS bike) before you can sit a full licence CBTA.

If you pass that assessment at 9 months, you cannot take the pass certificate to the AA and actually get your full licence until 12 months have elapsed since passing your restricted.

So, after 9 months on restricted you pass an assessment which certifies you as good enough to meet the Full licence standards but you can’t actually get that licence for 3 more months.

Why? What exactly is that supposed to achieve? I asked in the AA and they didn’t really know. The lady said that perhaps they wanted to to get more experience. However, (a) you’ve proved you’re good enough and (b) you could just leave your bike in the shed for three months, thus getting no further experience.

Try as I might, I can’t work out a logical reason for it. Any ideas?

At that time there was a US magazine Electronic Entertainment contracted to E2 so any local mag would unlikely be called e2.

Allow me to take you back to 1981.

The MOT officer followed me on my dad's 50cc Honda Express from their office on Fenton St. to the cul-de-sac at the Rotorua Lakefront and made me ride some figure-eights.

They certainly used to be more lenient! A friend of mine got told "You're on the wrong side of the road, mate" by the examiner (he was) and still passed.

I'm trying to come up with a name for a class of button (or maybe there's already a common-ish name that I'm not aware of). Some buttons, such as the traditional OK and Cancel, will close the window when clicked. Others, such as Apply, will not. Can anyone think of what I should call a non-closing-window button?

Best I can do is 'Function Button' - since I've created 'buttons' to perform about a million jobs from direct action (on the part of a concrete batching plant) through to toggling on or off some configuration parameter.
