Metservice website being the slowest to load of anything I look at (too) regularly. Is the server on the moon or something ?

Flies. God I hate them. We have had so many in the past 4 days, many of them huge blow flies.

For nigh on 10 days our weather forecast has been totally wrong as well. :( Statistically, they are less accurate than a coin toss.

Or that the 6-10 day bit seems pathologically incapable of predicting anything but rain (I exaggerate...a bit).

Or you can get that percentage rain predicted thing to have exactly the same values for two different days, but the forecast for one says sunny, and the other says rain.

I think I hate the silent ones worse than the buzzy variety.

In the past week, rain has been 87% or so predicted overnight over multiple times over multiple hours and woke up in the morning in all cases to not one drop of rain has fallen. I do understand rain can cover different areas and that 87% isn't 100% but makes it pretty hard to plan things all the same.

Also watering lawn in windy conditions that are swirly results in less water on lawn than in my face :)

They came with people. No fly problem here or in Oz until the first colonists arrived. We created the situation with all our unnatural agriculture. Just to be clear, I am not condemning that, just making an observation. Without 'unnatural' agriculture, the human population would have starved long ago. But the flies are part of the package.

We moved our waste bins well away from our house and have them in their own shed. We have  auto spay in the shed. As a result we get very few flies inside the house.

Rapallo AV who for the second time have sold me something apparently in stock and that wasn't and then there has been a long wait, and next to no communication. The price was good enough to put up with it, but in general, they would be the last retailer I'd buy from if there was an alternative.

I have noticed this over recent couple of months - slow as a wet week. It seems to me this started after they had that DoS attack. Maybe they’re adding extra checking or whatever into their loading procedure (but you can tell I know nothing about such processes). Just seems more than coincidence.

Agree about the DoS timing thing. When I'm busy obsessing about the rain you can watch the images for the 7(?) minute intervals slowwwwly appear.

I find the site very slow to load - but once loaded, the time lapse rain radar works OK, as before.
