Hi There!
Anyone know of any services that offer voicemail recording etc for phone systems etc?
Perhaps I am not googling for the right thing, but I can't find anything.

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.
jevvv: How do you get into doing it as a job?

stevenz: I can put you onto Ben Hurley who seems to be doing a lot of voiceover work.
I hate to think how much it'd cost though given the obscene amount of money that radio stations throw at voice-over actors.

Obscene amount of money?
You're kidding right?
Some of Auckland's top paid voices would make a comfortable living, but that would include travelling overseas for voicing gigs when required...
I think you may be confusing for the charges that ad agencies charge their advertisers for 'exclusive' voices. That's where things get expensive.
I used to contract voices to voice campaigns in a previous life, and the voice talent is a very small part of the puzzle. The time required to create a comprehensive phone answering system is HUGE! The cost is normally associated with the time the production engineer has to spend putting the whole thing together... studio time is not cheap.

I would class $500 for 1/2 an hour of work (not including travelling time) as "obscene".
