Ridiculous question. But are clothes sizes in the USA equivalent to ours. e.g. is  2xl shirt here the same as there, or would it be closer to 3xl or 4xl in American size?

Thinking about ordering some clothes, but dont want to find I am ordering a tent. haha

Note: it is also about shape (eg pumpkin/parsnip etc) not just size. Also, the US sizes have been adjusted for inflation.

Size are very different. Even in NZ you find an L tshirt has nothing to do with some other store's L tshirt. Only measurements (neck, waist, shoulders, etc) can be trusted. Anything in letters... buyer beware.

Check the measurements that they have on the size chart - most of them are pretty accurate. Don't just rely on the size
