If you want to see the transit of Venus across the sun check out this link. It'll update every 15min or so with a high res image so you can check in and see the spectacle. It will be visible in New Zealand from 10.15am to 4.43pm Wednesday.

Thanks for link. Was hoping to observe it myself, forecast is bad for Auckland, and haven't got my sun funnel made for my scope. If it does turn out sunny I will be very sad!

Cheers,
Joseph

Cool.
Cheers for sharing! :)

Still gonna hold out hope for observing it in between snow clouds, but this might have to do if all else fails.

Link not working at work, but maybe just too many people wanting to view it at the same time? Thanks for putting up the link though.

EDIT:  No it's working now, so all good.  Thanks!

I'm watching it on http://events.slooh.com/ - a selection of telescopes from all round the world. Uni of New Mexico feed is the best right now.

Can we peek at it quickly naked (n.b. eyes) or with sunglasses? People do this all the time without going blind, right?

My very simple setup, worked pretty well during the 5 minutes that the clouds cooperated!
