Hi guys,

Didn't really know where this question should be, so put it in off-topic for safe measure hehe. Anyways, i was wondering if there was a way of playing Xbox through the computer, or using the computer screen? I have a Sony LCD which has DVI inputs, however i can not find any xbox cables that support DVI. My computer has an nVidia GeForce 6800 GS gfx card, which i dont think has any AV or S-Video inputs, only an S-Video output!

So, any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ebbi

I've got my Xbox connected through a TV tuner.

Does your monitor have a built-in tuner?

Playing through TV tuner via software TV may experience a bit of delay due to the signal has to be decoded.

Anyhow, if you get Xbox to VGA adapter, you can achieve that with your LCD (with VGA port). of if you have Xbox 360, there's Xbox 360 VGA cable.

I have an Xbox 360 Pro system and I don't seem to have a VGA cable. Just the normal red/yellow/white cable (can't remember the name)

It works fine for PAL-50 games. PAL-60 doesn't seem to work at all

Check DSE or places like that you and you can find XBox 360 VGA cable, either official or MadCat's. And with the latest Xbox live update, you can upconvert DVDs to 720p, 1080i, 1080p on Component and VGA. Some games are able to be upconverted too. Just explore the settings after you have it plugged in.

One tip, make sure it is set at normal resolution before changing over to the VGA cable, also, you can plug and unplug anytime and Xbox 360 will remember each different connection setting. I.E. you were using normal RCA (composite) connection on TV with low resolution, then you take your Xbox 360 and plugged with VGA cable, it will display at high resolution. Handy.
