This just posted on the Herald web site:

Hopefully National can now pull together united behind a new leader (probably John Key).  It's high time they showed a united front and started to look like a government in waiting instead of blundering from one gaffe to another.  Brash has looked more and more uncomfortable in recent days and it was very difficult to imagine him leading National into the next election with any credibility.

We really do have to get rid of Labour at the next election.  They are past their use-by-date and this latest anti-smacking law is yet another intrusion into our private lives that we would be better off without (thanks Sue Tongue out).  Not that I condone child violence in any shape or form, but this is just a bridge too far in my view.
