Priceme have a little banner ad at the bottom of the Yahoo Mail android app, advertising their new "Andriod App"

hmmmm ... maybe they need to find a better ad agency ? :-)

It had me confused too. I saw the ad & was still puzzling over the thought that there was something not quite right about it, but I didn't know what. Had to rewind and look again LOL.

The problem is that once you have seen that mirror-reversing you can't unsee it. Now that ad really sticks out even when I fast-forward through the ad breaks. Don't blame me if that happens to you now!

Or a hosting company advertising "hosting for biziness" in Google AdWords (sometimes shows up here on Geekzone).

But I really dislike is when I read a web site about software and they use "it's" instead of "its". If they aren't careful enough with spelling, I always think they aren't careful enough with their software quality...

Maybe it's like those Nigerian scam emails, written with "deliberate' spelling mistakes and grammatical errors to weed out the dumb people

It's also one of my pet peeves - and the NZ herald is always a prime source of spelling mistakes and I'm sure they are not always typos. Likewise the programme descriptions added to SkyTV programme guides.

Like you Mauricio, I'm always sceptical about companies that do not proof read their web pages. In fact, I go a little further than that and will not buy from a TradeMe seller if their auction is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. It's my opinion that if they are too stupid and lazy to get it right then they don't deserve my hard earned money.

Ahh.. the joys of being a grumpy old man. Now don't get me started on the bad driving habits exhibited by 95% of Auckland drivers.

It must be the "Grumpy Old Man" syndrome again but I have steadfastly refused to use text abbreviations. This has caused the occasional predictive text error if I don't have my reading glasses on to correct the word before sending. (As just happened with this posting)

I like your idea of an automatic tag such as "Forgive me as I am using a mobile". It should be a factory default and instead of the "sent from my IPad" or "sent from my HTC" the factory default tag should be "Forgive me as I am using HTC and suffer from fat fingers"

By the way, I love technology. At home there are 2x Kindle 3 readers, 1x Kindle Fire, an android phone, 2x IPads, 2x laptops with linux headless servers, 2x windows laptops, a windows PC and next week, a VoIP phone system.

Re the TradeMe adds. Many of the grammatical errors, in my opinion, stem from the fact that for many traders English is their second language. In fact often I've decided (rightly or wrongly) not to buy based on that very assumption as I suspect the goods to be cheap Chinese knock offs.

I too avoid text abbreviations though I do use some for texting to fit the message into one text, but absolutely loath the use of text abbreviations anywhere else.

I have dyslexic fingers which leads to many typos which get worse on this netbook since the screen font is small as it's not so easy to pick them up . Also when using my phone the small keyboard and small screen don't help either, hence the fact many of my posts end up edited.
