Hey Everyone,

I thought I'd make a list of all the places that have price match promises/guarantees. My apologies if there's been a thread already, did a quick search to no avail.

I find price matching pretty useful and have gotten quite a few discounts. So I thought we might be able to create a master list.

Here's what I have so far, mostly the easy ones ^_^

Briscoes:
If you find a lower advertised or ticket price on an identical item (i.e. brand, colour, size) which is currently in stock, upon confirmation we'll beat the price by 10% - on the spot in-store, with proof of the current advertised price.

Bunnings:
If you happen to find a cheaper price on the same stocked item we'll beat it by 15%

Hyper Ride:
If you find a product that we stock on our website cheaper anywhere else in the world we will guarantee to match the price that the product would be once you have added GST freight and done the exchange rate conversion.

Mighty Ape:
Will beat competitors price.

Mitre 10:
If you find a lower price on an identically stocked product locally we will beat it by 15%. If you find the same product cheaper from another Mitre 10 store or Mitre 10 website we'll match that price.

Noel Leemings:
Find any identical product we sell at a lower price locally and we promise to match that price, down to the last cent and give you fly buys

Rebel Sport:
If you find a lower advertised or ticket price on an identical item (i.e. brand, colour, size) which is currently in stock, upon confirmation we'll beat the price by 10% - on the spot in-store

Warehouse Stationery:
In the unlikely event you find the same product advertised cheaper, We'll beat it by up to 10%, 5% on computer products*, mobile phones, postal products. Excludes gift cards, vouchers and phone cards.

I believe the following stores just offer a price match, without any sort of discount/bonus (i.e. fly buys):
Bond and Bond
Computer Lounge
Dick Smith
Kmart
Pharmacy direct
The Warehouse

Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of these :)

I notice Harvey Norman Australia do, but NZ stores don't. Found that out the hard way

Noel leemings price promise does apply to matching NZ online retailers I have found, after asking them to price match. Not sure if that is in their fine print though. I was told it only applies to retailers with brick and mortar stores.

Interesting, didn't know Mighty Ape did. That's good info. Cheers!

Sony does this, you can just take a print out from price spy.

Smith's City are another one to add to the list, they'll normally beat it (depends on margin)

Ive found with bricks and mortar retailers matching online retailers, they will usually exclude parallel imported items, and include any surcharges, ie shipping.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the responses!
I learned that I can't edit my original post to keep things tidy! :(

I've found a couple of extras...

Jetstar Flights:
If you find a published internet airfare on another airline that is lower than the lowest available comparable Jetstar fare on Jetstar.com, call us to book with Jetstar and we will beat the other airline’s fare by 10% (provided we can verify the lower fare when you call to book). The comparable fare must be for a one way direct flight on the same route at a comparable time.

Here's the source since it has a few more terms than usual: http://www.jetstar.com/nz/en/what-we-offer/our-guarantees/price-beat-guarantee

Naked Bus:
We are so sure that we offer cheap prices that if you were to find that a competitor offers a cheaper online price, we will credit you with the difference between the price you paid us and the lower online fare you have found. We'll also credit you with an extra $1. This offer is valid from the moment you book, right up to the time you travel, reducing your uncertainty about future prices.

EB Games, Jbhifi, DSE, Computer Lounge:
These stores all seem to have a similar story. Will price match but not from online stores (excl. computer lounge, I believe), item must be in stock, will take delivery fee into account etc. I can't find any online evidence on them 'beating the price' however.

I shall be keeping my eyes peeled next time I go to the shopping centre!

I am sure Whitcoulls website used to match any online price, but I can't find any reference to it anymore. Perhaps the new ownership removed this.

Dick Smith doesn't price match anymore, but they can create their own deals. Every company has different cost prices though, so if it's below their cost, I can understand why they wouldn't price match.

Always read the small print. A lot of these have a little * saying its on a case by case basis or up to the manager etc etc.

JB & DSE certainly don't price match, but will 'do their best'.

I've been verbally told by a person working at The Warehouse's Music/DVD/etc counter that they'll price match for at least those sorts of products (I think she even hinted at online prices), as I made a comment about them been cheaper than Mighty Ape & JB.

The Good Guys will beat any price and also have a 30 day best best promise, so if you find your purchase cheaper anywhere else upto 30 days after the purchase date they will refund the difference
