allan:mattwnz: ..... I had this same problem with the Dompost, they say OSH prevents them getting out of their vehicle to put it in my letter box so I am no longer a subscriber.
I'm sorry, but that is health and safety gone mad
I too received the following from NZ Herald when I contacted them to provide feedback on one of their delivery personnel who delivers a paper to our neighbour.
They wrote "To confirm, letter boxes should be on the street seeing our policy is a free delivery and it is to the letter box on the street. This policy does avoid delivery staff driving down a driveway or ROW to deliver, because they are not permitted to leave their vehicles."
I'd love to know exactly how many letterboxes are conveniently placed so as that the NZ Herald and Dominion Post delivery staff don't have to exit their vehicles.
