Quite a few people on GZ (include us mods who are, after all, still only mere mortals), end up posting double messages.

The resulting editing and apologising makes me think that quite a few people feel uncomfortable about making these mistakes.

Dont panic about it - it happens all the time! You can just leave double posts in place, and rest assured, a moderator will spot them (generally within about 20 - 40 mins) and delete the doubles for you.

No need to stress, and start editing things, or thinking that a mod will jump on you - we wont!

Regards,

The Geekzone Team

(Do you like the cheesy motto... its the worst I could come up with on short notice)

Moderators can only jump at other moderators... Like now for instance:

Tony, what a cheesy motto!

I started hassling the local supermarket manager because the entrance from the street has shifted without a corresponding change in the kerb crossing. I was surprised when he agreed as it "Wasn't a good start to the whole supermarket experience".

Wow! Let's go off topic (unless the topic is changing from double posting to cheesy motto to "experience")...

This looked like it was going to get interesting until some uptight moderator locked it.

The moderators on this site are nazis who work for Telecom and WXC. Go ahead ban me, I dare you to.

...Sorry, couldn't resist

For people who read this post without knowing the story, here's an explanation: when broadband services go down in New Zealand, people turn to Geekzone to ask for more information. Sometimes people go a bit beyond of being nice and moderators ask them to slow down their trolling or be banned.

Most of those trolls reply calling moderators names, etc and of course they're banned. Hence Brad's joke...

unlocked and moved to offtopic (seeing as no one with access bothered honoring the lock).

The nazi reference is a reminder of Godwins law (just google it).

By the way Brad... I dont work for Telecom, I work for Gen-i

:-P

Why can we not have a "delete post" option? seems logical!
