Hi,
Is it possible somehow to send a txt message from your computer to a cellphone? Do any (or all?) ISPs offer this service?
I'm with Xtra. And Telecom for phone.
Thanks,
Nick

gregmcc: if your with vodafone (mobile)? you can create an email address xxxx@vodafone.net.nz and when an email arrives there you can get a notification via text message that contains the 1st 160 characters of the email.

Glad to see that Vodafone keep their customers up to date as to what they can and can't do.
Oh well guess it's lucky that I managed to get myself one of those @vodafone.net.nz addresses :)
blair003: http://www.net24.co.nz/iSMS-gateway/
$10+GST/mo, includes 25 texts then 18cents each.
Telecom also have http://www.telecom.co.nz/eTXT
I never found any that allowed you to have a text plan, so if you plan to send lots then it's a lot cheaper to do it via your phone (assuming you have a smartphone). I used to use samsung kies, but there will no doubt be other apps that allow you to send sms from your computer if your phone is connected to the same wifi network as the computer.
