Hi guys.

I just read this article and I dont know anything about racing so dont completely understand it.

http://nz.sports.yahoo.com/racing/news/article/-/15313570/three-melbourne-cup-jockeys-suspended/

Does that mean he got suspended and his result (Of coming 2nd) doesnt count? So 4th place now gets 3rd, 3rd gets 2nd?

Cheers

Edit: This is the bit im talking about "Nolen was one of three Cup jockeys suspended with James McDonald, who rode runner-up Fiorente and Rhys McLeod on last-placed Ethiopia also outed."

I'm pretty sure this is just a suspension for future meets, and the results still stand. If the results had been changed there would be a lot more noise about this, and this would be headline news.

once the results are announced and paid out they are final, if the infringements were significant there would have been a protest raised at the time, as there was none the results stand.
