Hi there.

I was wondering if there was a site like Pricespy which shows you the cheapest places to get Games/Movies (Dvd + BR) from?

Given the vast number of options (stores) and titles, and the fact that prices can fluctuate from day to day (often significantly) - it'd be largely useless for any level of reliability I'd imagine.

Just check the websites of the "usual suspects" (Dick Smith, JB HiFi, MightyApe, FishPond, NZGameshop, Amazon, The Warehouse). You'll get more up-to-date figures then, probably not very helpful to you though sorry.

errr, i dont think it would be useless, pricespy has a large list of stores whose prices change daily, this site is able to cope with that (and so do other price sites like the one geekzone uses).

i dont know of any site that does exist, but would be a good idea.

trademe also is a good place to shop for this kind of thing, as many sellers/stores list on there.

Nah man thats great thanks. Your first point is exactly what I was thinking, it would be too hard to keep up to date with the prices. Unlike TV's, Cellphones etc where the price stays the same for a while.

Surely it'd rely on all the sites involved having a complete and up-to-date index of all of their stock on a website for them to index? Games, sure as there's only several hundred, and probably very few that would be actively being shopped for, but I can't see many stores indexing potentially thousands of movie titles. Happy to be proven wrong.
