Just wondering if anyone has used 'bigbrandsonline.co.nz"

Was surfing on it this arvo checking out appliances an had a online chat to the cust service guy.
quite helpful etc and prices are reasonable.

The site crashed after I registered. I cant even load the site anymore...

Notice: Error: Unknown column 'date_last_action' in 'field list'
Error No: 1054
UPDATE customer SET cart = 'a:0:{}', wishlist = '', date_last_action = NOW(), number_reminder_sent = 0, ip = '203.173.255.81' WHERE customer_id = '159' in /home/bigbrand/public_html/system/database/mysql.php on line 49

Anyone used this outfit and do you reccomend them?

Website works for me... but havent signed for an account, Id say its a registered user only issue going by this...

UPDATE customer SET cart = 'a:0:{}', wishlist = ''

As for the company, did some poking around, cant find any record of the owner in the companies DB or the company name.... claims theyve been running for a few years... and domain regged in AU... Not saying theyre dodgy, but dont make it easy to verify ;)

I noticed the email confirmation of registration was from  @theonlinegroup

I googled and found a rather nice website.

All their other sites work fine.
This particular site has a cheaper price for the same items shown on the other sites.

Is this why many big retailers are no longer stocking Palmco rangehoods etc?
Typically they're lower end kit with... um... a clientele more likely to be fitting out rentals, rather than their own homes.

Your poking around was not quite deep enough.

The Big Brands Group Limited (http://www.business.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/companies/2385595/) owned by one Kirsty Cardy is the company you are looking for.  Incorporated in 2010.

And the domain registrant is a New Zealander in Auckland.  Not Australia, unless Auckland moved recently while I wasn't looking.

I'd say this is one of the easiest ever to verify, actually.

Have you tried a local retailer and negotiated on price? You can often  knock a big percentage off if you show a competitors price.

I have to say if their code and security practices are that poor there's no way I'd use the website. They obviously haven't done even a rudimentary security review, because part of that is making sure that error details don't get shown to users (OWASP top ten).
