Does anybody else have a Berocca every morning? Do you think it gives you more energy throughout the day? Do you feel better for it?

I have been having them daily in the morning for a while now, at least 6 months. I guess I could say I feel as if I have more energy during the days but not entirely sure.

Whats your opinions on it?

Placebo? - It's hard to say, I take them and nothing happens apart from some kinda disgusting flavored burp so I stopped taking them and didn't notice any difference.

I used to use them as a pick me up but never took them regularly.

When I was on Optifast however I did take a multi vitimin which I think helped, as well as iron tablets.

Likewise never taken them regularly only when I was drinking, as I recall and if you could remember take 1 before you go out, one when you get home and one in morning and it worked a treat in cutting down the hangover.

I've had B vitamin deficiency which produced neurological problems. I could definitely feel the difference in my energy levels, physical and emotional resilience, memory  and my ability to walk through a doorway without hitting the sides.

When I'm not deficient in the vitamins and minerals then I don't notice any difference.

Berroca is the best hangover cure ive ever found. I just take one before heading to bed and wake up feeling great. It hasn't failed me yet in the multiple times ive done it, if i forget however i certainly feel it the next day.

I however take a Centrum each day and have for a couple of years now. I wouldn't say it picks me up but all those vitamins must be doing some good surely.

what's the active ingredient?

if you want to go natural there's - balanced healthy diet (with or without supplements - not many people can consume every mineral under the sun in sufficient quantities, but most people can take in toxins left right and centre), sufficient regular sleep, regular sweaty exercise (i'm not sure if stuff that happens in the house counts) ...

V and red bull and wild bean is the other option.

They are high in sodium so I wouldn't want to take one every day.

I take a Centrum daily and also quite a lot of fish oil. The Centrum doesn't make me feel "picked up" or anything, its just that I do a lot of exercise so try to give my body a few more vitamins. The fish oil helps with my recovery from exercise and I'm noticing some other effects around brain activity in that I feel more "switched on", especially at work.

Vitamin B, which helps your body use its energy supplies. Berocca is a less natural alternative to Marmite and many unprocessed foods. It's not common to be deficient in Vitamin B.

It's quite a different chemical from stimulants like caffeine.

Definitely does.

It should be noted that alcohol consumption depletes vitamin B reserves a lot.  So if you drink a lot, take a good B vitamin supplement (it helps with headaches and lethargy related to B deficiency), however Berocca is probably about the worst one (and makes me retch also) better to grab something in a swallow tablet form.

on a slightly different vein

- omega 3 is the answer to everything ... so if you want to take something and don't know what - take omega 3 :)

but you need about 3g of the stuff a day for best results :)

seems to neutralise most badness in the world today ... not all, but most of mine anyway ... having said that, i'm only planning to take it in the medium future though

I think it works as a hangover prevention as it gets water into you. The best prevention method cure I've found is to stop drinking an hour before you want to go to bed, start drinking water and have a multivitamin or some berocca, you'll be happier the next day than you otherwise would be.

I always saw Berocca more as a hangover helper. A big shot of fluid, vitamins and electrolytes.

I wouldn't take them every day.....Coffee is cheaper. :-)
