He is holed up in a cabin, very easy fix, throw 6 grenades in the windows and walk away. Otherwise he surrenders and gets a book deal and $20m for emotional harm the police caused him.

Hard to say what to make of it.

The guy has lost the plot. It still isn't clear at time of writing that he is the guy in the cabin and that he is dead.

LAPD officer begins terror campaign against LAPD. It sounds like a story right out of CSI or one of those things. In the US it is feeding into dissatisfaction with the LAPD. It looks like this will go on for a while. His online rant is surprisingly readable and coherent: https://sites.google.com/site/christopherjdorner/home

He has more than one fan type facebook page advancing conspiracy type theories: https://www.facebook.com/ChristopherDornerOfficial

As I understand it he began his terror campaign by killing two people in cold blood simply because they were related to an officer who Dorner believed had sold him down the river on an allegation of excessive force and racism Dorner made against another officer.

Whatever the reason the rampage begins, or whatever he's done when it started, it won't end well for the LAPD and Sheriff's Dept if reports are confirmed of police officers talking over the radio about the plan to "burn".

If this is confirmed, and indeed their actions were intended to kill him, not to capture him, then welcome to Los Angeles 1992...

It's not that hard ... He ain't gonna surrender ...

Any excuse of 'i think he had a weapon' can be used to justify shooting in self defence ...

There is no need for admission for any intention to kill

Hardly, no-one is going to riot over a cop killer, regardless of race.

Thing is... People there don't like LAPD that much. And he had some (wrong type) support and media exposure showing him as an anti-hero.

We never know what goes on in their minds... And the thing is not "Dorner" is "LAPD didn't want to arrest but kill". That's a different view of the problem. People already distrust the department as it is, with something like this things change a lot.

Still with all that taken into account, no-one is going to riot over a cop killer, no chance. I don't really personally mind, that they went into it with the intention to take him dead or alive with the focus on dead, and I have a few friends and family in LA who feel the same way or stronger. If you kill a cop, there should be a special place in hell for you.

I imagine there would be people who would riot, there have been quite a few reports of this case that put the police in bad light

1, They shot and killed two innocents in a car that was a different colour and type to Dorner's
2, Cops shot at another innocent before confirming who it was
2, They burnt down the cabin with him inside which they are now trying to take down all audio related to it
2a, he could have had a hostage and they didn't know (how would you feel if that is how the cops dealt with all stand off's?)
2b, it isn't confirmed the body is him yet
2c, it apparently violates the geneva convention that they did it this way
3, They found his wallet at the border and an official is quoted saying they also found his wallet in the cabin (who has two wallets?)
