Bought a McD's happy meal and it had a skateboard in it on Thursday

Now the kid wants me to help him skateboard

Is it worth getting him a good one (Which one!) so he can learn himself? (i have the helmet and the joint protectors)

a friend gave him a cheap k mart board but it is hopeless: wheels are stiff so there is no movement no movement no movement and suddenly gives and you've fallen off.

options if I cannot teach him apart from give moral support

1) get proper skateboard
2) learn scooter first
3) wait for winter send him to ski lessons
4) go down to skating rink give him ice skating lessons
5) learn blades first

thanks

Follow him on a bike?

Can you borrow a board to see if he's really interested, or if it's just a passing phase....

Common sense is not as common as you think.

IMO he is too young. Go for a decent scooter to start with and then see where that takes him in a year or two.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
