I hope Dick Smith goes bust. It would suck for their staff and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but the corporate muppets that have run it into the ground need a kick in the, well, dick.

Went to DSE last weekend looking for a converter to 19v. Couldn't find it but they had pink hair dryers.

I never go there for that reason now, there's no reason to - it's now Jaycar, shame the corps have turned it into any other MMR.

Went in looking for a sim converter from micro to normal. Nope.

Way overpriced cameras - plenty. Wont pricematch because "it might be parallel imported and different" - Yup, plenty of those.

Logitech mouse at twice the PBtech price - Yup, had that.

Overpriced computer monitors - Heaps.

Overpriced TV's. Limited selection

Ignorant rude person behind the till that doesnt deserve to be called a salesperson. Yeah. 2 of them, talking to each other ignoring people in the shop.

Its almost like they used a bunch of teenage boys as a focus group for marketing ideas..

"Dicks are funny.. Heh Heh.... You should do dick jokes in all the advertising... Heh Heh...."

But wasn't it sold recently to another company? Hate those new tv ads, they think some blond woman reading out the deals will sell things.

I find it laughable that they are trying to sell daily tech deals with TV ad's.

What ever happened to that last daily deal on TV crowd that jumped in back when daily deals were new and hip?

Apparently they're now making pricing / buying decisions out of Auckland and not Aussie, so they should be a little more 'on the ball' price wise. But maybe not...
The identity crisis still remains though.
No property portfolio, no apparent game plan, no future?

A decent plasma tv at $799 and a reasonable entry level sony smartphone for $99 aren't too bad deals, even if theres a cringeworthy marketing campaign around it (which seems to get people talking from what ive seen)

Bought a computer screen for DSE a while ago. Asked what connectivity it had and they replied "There's a plug for power and one for the computer".
